Could WineHQ be used to run Windows software as rendernodes?
Could WineHQ be used to run Windows software as rendernodes? Hi, I'm doing 3D computer graphics and I was asking myself if it's possible to do network windows rendering with software like Luxology Modo, Autodesk 3ds Max, Newtek Lightwave, etc... To do this rendering Windows software has to be able to connect via LAN.

Thanks for that, yes I can see the problem and why those flags not help. What we are left with is a requirement in abcde to overcome this and until then we have the manual method. Have you any thoughts on the best way to overcome this pro...

Hi, Bit late to join in the discussion but I've just read through the CD archiving discussion and was particular interested in Dax's method, described here (also included below): http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac/2006-September/000611.html So far I've just been flac-ing my CDs to individual one-flac-per-track files, however it appears I've been missing some of the other bits

I see that this was the right place to fire off this question. Thanks for your feedback. It has given me a base to start some trials. I used to use EAC on Windows, but I tend to only use open source software as much as possible and I don't use Windows any more. I gave a brief look at abcde, but it is clear I need to look at this some more. It looks like it has the potential to do everything I

wine + lwsn
I've got a problem with wine and lwns (NewTek render engine). When I'm using 1 core machine everything is fine. It's working even a little bit faster. But on 2 core machine it has some problem. With small scenes everything is ok. When I start a scene that use nearly all (2GB) of memory it slows down 7 times! I'm sure that it's...

Regardless, my just barely working setup to rip entire CDs to flac breaks with the latest abcde from subversion, and I haven't yet had time to get it running again. :( - -- Charles Steinkuehler cstein@newtek.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.4 (MingW32) iD8DBQFFGXSMenk4xp+mH40RAt1TAKDWMUPOoZS04Day9P8Kg19I4ZQvJwCfXx96 S6E7g50CTx/tcVUud1T+TNk= =t9HH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
