...I have to ask my question in an other way. Is someone able to install a printer shared by Samba 3/Samba pre3 x over the controlpanel? I can't. I can't see my Server. I can see the Domain name and I can see other clients wich belong to the domain. I can see all and connect to all over the Networkneighborhood. Normaly I would say that conecting printer over the Networkneighborhood is enough, but it seems to me that applications become slow if you try to change the printer in the aplication. Can someone? Any ideas? Pleas ! Mfg Stefan

I'm very new to linux, I'm using Linux 8.0, seemed very easy to configure at first, but I'm having trouble configuring how to connect to my computer using linux from my computer using windows98. I see the Mygroup Icon in NetworkNeighborhood and also my user name, but when I click on it, it says to provide a password. I use my user password from linux but no avail. ...ager, I get this message in the samba log file: [2002/12/19 12:16:13, 0] rpc_server/srv_srvsvc_nt.c:delete_share_security(277) delete_share_security: Failed to delete entry for share w98bin The delete operation does work though and the share is removed from the smb.conf and no longer appears in NetworkNeighborhood. Also, when I do a change share operation in ServerManager where I change the path of an existing share, I get the same message in the samba log file, but the change operation does not fully complete. ...nly "Win" is shown as Computer Icon (this is this machine, and listed are all shared drives and the printer), - and I see "Suse" but when I attempt to click this NetNeigh hangs.
