install Verisign/NetSol CA bundle
I have a client-provided SSL cert that seems to be provided by Verisign but
issued by my good friends at Network Problems. I thought this was part of
default cert.pem, but maybe not.
The docs on Verisign's site are... ahem... unhelpful.
I have what I think is the correct CA chain for this cert, but still trying to
determine what marketing terms overlap with what reality. But how is it to

WAY OT: domain name registration .co.za
Hello All,
Very sorry about WAY off-topic query, but you folks really are one of
my most International subscribed groups.
I am looking for a recommendation for a domain name registrar I can
register my .co.za domain name with that won't 'yank my chains'. I
tried a couple attempts at registering and found some hidden fees
along with the insistence that I had to host my DNS with

Server cutover complete; waiting for root server DNS propogation
Hello,
All services have been successfully migrated to our new facility.
Unfortunately, NetSol once again displayed a brilliant inability to
grasp a clue using both hands and a suction cup, and informed us they
*might* get around to updating DNS records in about two weeks. If we
could fax them enough identification.
Needless to say, they've lost our business and our domain transfers

Ruuid package
Hello ...
I would like to direct people's attention to the package "Ruuid" on the
Biconductor website
(http://www.bioconductor.org/repository/devel/package/html/Ruuid.html).
It's purpose is to generate UUID values, and has a simple R interface
(currently one function: getuuid(), with multiple options).
Under unix, it uses Theodore Ts'o's libuuid to create and manage

QOS / Cisco / Asterisk
We're trying to PQ (Priority Queue) packets on a Cisco using ACL's. What
we're trying to avoid is hardcoding the IP address in the ACL. We were
trying to match by TOS set by Asterisk however it seems we've run into a
snag where the packet TOS tends to get reset somewhere on our network.
Has anyone had this issue? We're running Cisco everywhere inbetween
(even the switches). Is

Script for removing stale sessions: version for RH6.0? [Offtopic?]
Hello, people at SAMBA list.
I'm going thru the same problem that Nicholas Williams has
described in samba-list first (see references below), and I'm implementing
the solution you've decribed in the list
(SO_KEEPALIVE, etc). But I'm stuck with the script issue, as I run RedHat
Linux 6.0 which doesn't use ksh but pdksh instead. The ksh script doesn't
run in pdksh

SOLVED: Samba + e2compr + Linux == problems
Semms that I've confirmed that all of my problems with Samba arised
because of e2compr. After describing my problem to Alan, I've done what I
proposed myself last saturday: I've turned off compression in my home
directory and tried to save the file several times without modifications,
exactly in the same way I've done to reproduce the problem.
Et voil?! I could save the file

Samba + e2compr = problems?
Hello, everybody.
Casually I've got the chanceto reproduce at my workstation the
problem that prevented us to change from Novell 4.11 to Samba on RH6.0.
AFAIK, the problem is loosely related to the one described in these lists
where one get a bunch of smbd daemons running, while certain files remain
locked and can be only unlocked by means of a reboot of the system.
I could verify details
