Too slow computer?
Hello! I''ve put some questions on this list some weeks
ago and I''ve got good answers. Thank you!
Now I''ve finished my (beautyful) script and I ran it
on my router...
About my script:
It routes packages based on their destination on the
Internet. I have about 1650 preffered destination
networks listed in some file. The script read this
file and marks every package for

CentOS6: missing kernel module?
Testing out tipc for cluster development, and running into an immediate snag.
tipcutils was found in EPEL but despite having a "compatible" kernel, it
doesn't seem to actually work.
It's a completely updated system, Intel i5 with 16 GB of RAM, nothing
remarkable.
Any ideas?

Active Directory, Listing Users in Groups.
I have samba 3.0.8, as a member of 2000AD and 2003AD.
I would like to get groups and the members in each group.
The purpose is to maintain a set of Filtering profiles on squidGuard that
are based on AD groups. I will have a script that reads a config file with
the groupnames to fetch from Active Directory and a Precedence order to set
them in. One of the groups will be designated "a NO

IP Management SW
Not a CentOS specific question, but I'll try anyway. :)
I've decided I need a proper IP Management solution. In a perfect world
I'd like something like QIP or NetID, but I have a feeling that's too much
so ask, so I'll go for DHCP/DNS management. :)
There's alot of different opensource products out there, but I'd rather
get recommendations than spend days

Samba 4 "Services for UNIX"? [SOLVED]
To get the automount schema to work with the git checkout of samba 4 I had
to modify the automount schema files and separate the attributes from the
classes. I also discovered that it's required to have the
ntSecurityDescriptor , instanceType, and objectCategory attributes. Without
these it will crash whenever you try to browse... I did alot of stopping
samba, tarring of /usr/local/samba and

It sounds like you are sharing NFS shares via Samba, for various reasons this is not a good idea.
Your other problem is that NIS, for all inten...

LDAP permissions - ldbedit/ldapmodify?
Hi,
A while ago I successfully set permissions on a section of my LDAP / AD
tree, using either ADUC or ADSIEDIT (I forget which). These permissions
allowed my own user to access this section of the tree; I removed
permissions for 'Domain Admins' etc. to ensure that others would not be
able to view or change the data - this has worked great for many months.
I have just tried to add a new
