PXElinux boot sequence with multiple ethernets
...ork cards. While there are a total of 8 ports on each computer,
only two (each) are connected as follows:
Boot Server
eth0 - 10GbE fiber channel (private to the set of computers being
managed) (Qlogic)
eth4 - 1Gb ethernet (public and out of my sphere of management)
(NetExtreme II)
Boot Client
eth4 - 10GbE fiber channel (same private as above)
eth0 - 1Gb ethernet (same public as above)
These are both IBM systems.
The firmware in the boot client is configured to PXE boot using eth4.

Kernel Panic on HP/Compaq ProLiant G7
...o problems.
I am trying to determine if this is pointing to a hardware or software issue. Some of the Google results suggested using a Centosplus kernel - is this a good idea?
The server is a HP DL380 G7 Server with 4 GB RAM (1 DIMM 1333 MHz), one 4-core CPU (2133 MHz), 4 built-in Broadcom "NetExtreme II BCM5709 II Gigabit Ethernet" NICs, and a P410 Smart Array Controller. The P410 and the system BIOS have both been updated to the latest levels to see if that fixes the crashes, with no change.
Any idea where I should look next?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Network has stopped working
Hi,
I am running Scientific Linux (RHEL clone) and my networking was working
fine. However, my network has seemed to vanish. Xen boots fine, but
Xen comes up with no network. Running ''lspci'' shows that both network
cards - Broadcom NetExtreme - are shown. However ''lsconfig -a'' shows
only the loopback interface.
Trying to restart networking complains that there is no eth0 device.
Is there a way to fine the Xen boot output (it scrolls by quickly at
boot). As far as I can tell dmesg doesn''t see it.
If the...

Wake on LAN
Has anyone experience with WOL under Centos (5.3).?
If so, how exactly do you put the machine to sleep,
and how exactly do you wake it up remotely?

XEN - Broadcom issue: survey
I totally agree with Luc Boudreau about this problem.
On modern branded server they ALL use Broadcom chipset... I must admit that:
a) lot of people are experiencing the problem but can tolerate it
or
b) someone already experienced this problem and solved it
Lets'' approach the problem pragmatically... just start with a survey on
the list. ... hope we solve this issue soon.

help--dom0 network goes unpingable when xend starts
I installed 64-bit xen 3.1.0 (from xensource.com tarballs) on
three new machines today, using a configuration setup that I''ve
used successfully many times before. However, I encountered a
new problem.
These are Dell Poweredge 1950 servers, by the way.
