VC2005 MMX patch.
Here is the patch with my changes.
Most work went into the decoder. I just changed on the encoder if
something was nessesary to build the library.
You can find the patch here (quite big)..
http://torus.untergrund.net/code/theora_mmx_vc2005.diff
Please let me know if the encoder works without problems. I just did a
very brief testing of it.
The decoder has been tested against the test

[PATCH] nsd-patch: fix segfault after renaming slave zone
Hi all,
we have discovered a segfault in nsd-patch when renaming slave zone in nsd
config file if some data for this zone still exists in the IXFR diff
database.
In my case, the zone "black" was renamed to "blackinwhite":

2.2.6 and printer questions
Hi @all,
I have 2 questions about printer driver installation on w2k-client for a samba served printer:
1.
If I want to install a driver on w2k workstation, I choose network printer and then can browse the network. If printers are served from a Nt/w2k-server, in my opinion it is not nessesary to double click the netbios name of the Nt/w2k-server to see the shared printers. In this case under

This doesn't seem to be a large issue - a single bit in the header could

Mongrels 1.0.1 falling asleep w/ Rails 1.2
I''m a bit surprised I can''t find anything about this in the mailing
list archives. Basically since Mongrel 1.0.1 I''ve had Mongrels fall
asleep without any real cause. A deep sleep, actually more like a
coma. The mongrel in question (I''m using a cluster of three) can not
be revived. A cluster::stop, then cluster::start is nessesary.
A ::restart would not

Darkice and Icecast ..
I can create a section in darkice
with looks like
[file-0]
format = vorbis
bitrateMode = abr
bitrate = 48
fileName = /tmp/save.ogg
Is there a way to start/stop recording
without stopping all other streamer?
per example
- stop file recording
- save file to another name
- start recording ( regenerate the nessesary header for mp3 or ogg)
maybe an HUP?
Thanks.

Questions on winelib
Hi.
I'm currently starting the process of porting a windows based gaming engine (uses the windows API),to linux.
I have winelib (winemaker?) and have read through it's documentation but am still unsure what it's really for.
Is it possable to use winelib to assist me in porting this engine from windows to linux,is that what it's for?
If so,do I have to provide all nessesary

idea for a new algorithm
Hello vorbis developer!
I'm not very experienced in informatics, cause i'm only an audio
engineer and sorry for my broken english but i have an idea...
After the filterbank the maximum aplitude in each band decides
about the nessesary bits, then the psychoacoustic model decides how
much of the signal can be truncated without hearable noise.
What do you think about quantising the

using a windows installation
First I would like to say how proud of and thankful to all the people
who help out with wine. Its a great project and a lifesaver for
everyone trying to get away from being tied to windows. With that being
said ... (i just got photoshop 7 working yesterday so i'm still pretty
elated)
Ok. I am dual booting and have a win2k installation on another partition
mounted at /mnt/win. It is ntfs so

Strange files
Hello,
I am using Samba 2.0.3 on my FreeBSD 2.2.7 box.
Works fine.
It is already running for a few months with a small amount of windows95
users and last week we decided to move all our userfiles from our SCO box
with visionfs over to the Samba machine.
No problems so far.
But, strange files are appearing in the directorys of the NT40 workstation
users.
Under Unix they look like Ne00: or Ne01: or

Is it possible to make rsync VMware split .vmdk's aware?
Hi,
I am using rsync for my customers to have disaster recovery off-site
with files from a VMware Server (under Linux). All works very well, but
when I defragment the VM's (once a week) or Exchange defragments it's
datastore the disk layout changes offcourse and sometimes a lot.
What do I do:
- I am making a local copy with vmware-vdiskmanager to an USB
disk in the split

Well there are really only two endian-nesses, big and little.
WAV is usually little endian but there is also a (very rare) big endian
version. AIFF is usually little endian but also supports big endian
encoding. CAF, AU, IRCAM and a number of others support both endian-nesses
equally.

rsync, --sparse and VM disk images
Hi Bas,
I'm not sure if this is of interest, but I also had issues with VM
disk-image sparse-files (in my case KVM, rather than VMWare), which
I've now resolved.
