Some problems with Nero
I am using Nero (the cd writer program from Ahead) and usually it
works just nice. There are however some problems:
In the actual burning windows there is a white field where comments
during the burning process are written. In front of each comment is an
icon. For some reason, no tekst is displayed in wine (the comments do
show up).
Another problem is that Nero doesn't notice when a CD is

guess what --winver nt40 or win31 didn't fix the problem :-(
Even cleaning the fake_windows dir and doing a fresh install of nero didn't
help :-(
Same with a fresh compiled current cvs of WineX !
Something seems to have changed in the wine developement that isn't
compatible with neros .vxd ?
Changing back to wine 20010731 from my suse distri, works again !
Anyone ??? Any idea ????
(btw.: I also tried to install the demo of nero 5.5 - which was reported to

Nero using Wine
Hi everybody,
I'm new to Wine. I'm running Mandriva 2006. On the Internet I read on a
few pages that it was possible to get Nero working using Wine. Can
somebody please explain to me how I can get this to work? I primary want
it to make covers using the Nero Cover Editor.
Thanks in advance.

Ahead Nero Burning ROM soon to support Vorbis!
As mentioned at: http://www.cdfreaks.com/document.php3?Doc=101 :
---QUOTE:
Is Ahead planning to add Ogg Vorbis support and is there any date set?
Well we probably owe a big apology to all those users who have been
requesting support.
To begin with, I think the Vorbis communities and developers alike, have
done a fantastic job in widening the acceptance level of the Ogg formats. It

Ahead Nero 5.0
Hello!
I started to use wine (Wine release 20010326) just a few weeks ago. It
seems to work fine. I have a Windows 98 (first edition) installation on an
extra partition which should be used by wine. I run SuSE 7.2 with kernel
2.4.4 on an AMD K6-II 350 MHz with 192 MB RAM.
I do not know anything about debuggers or programming in C, C+ or something.
I tried to run the CDR-burning software Nero

Bit peeling(?) used in MPEG-2/SVCD Nero plugin?
Not vorbis-related, just I think I found a similar technique being used...
The description of the MPEG-2/SVCD plugin on the nero site says that it
can encode exacty to the size of the CD (to maximize quality given a size
restriction). It also says (in a separate point) that it uses two-pass
VBR compression.
>From that I guess they do something like encoding a bigger-than needed

a few sys/isolinux questions
Hi all,
I am using sys/isolinux for a mini-distro I am developing (movix.sf.net)
and I have a few questions based on the feedback I got from users.
As it is well known, there are some BIOS on which isolinux does not
work, so I had to create a boot floppy image for those unfortunate users
that have that kind of BIOS.
The floppy boots, looks for the CD and, if succesful, mounts the CD
