Samba Server Not Browseable
Hello-
I am in the process of upgrading our NT 3.51 to NT 4.0
but have run into a problem:
We have Samba 1.9.14 running on a UnixWare 2.1 machine.
With the NT 3.51 machines the Samba Serveris not visible
in the Network Neightborhood, but it can be easily accessed
by specifying where one wants to connect.
NT 4.0 doesn't seem to have this option.
So, 1) can someone tell me HOW to make the Samba Server
appear in the Neighborhood Network on NT 4.0; what changes
should I make on either the the NT side or in the smb...

...ba up and running i can mount the hdd from the other machines
but the other machines does see my linux box what could be the problem i
can't seem to put my hand on it..
i have this machine running linux and the other machines are running
windows for workgroup and win95 but when i go to network neightborhood on
the win95 machine it see only the other windows machine not the linux
box..
can someone give me any idea i'm out of it?.

name resolution & samba problem

With this configuration I can see my host deltacom
from winnt machine in Network Neightborhood window and
I can access /tmp but I cannot access by share
/home/tatia. The directory appear but when I click on
it nothing happens.
Now the tests:
Test 1: No errors from ">testparam smb.conf"
Test 2: ping delatcom ok from an winnt machine (let it
be doinae)
ping doinae failed...
