Dialplan mapping for multiple outbound providers to determine best rates
Hello All, Right now I have several providers. Voipjet, Teliax, and more recently Broadvoice. Broadvoice gives me unlimited to europe, but what I want to do is determine the best way to setup a dialplan so for example, certain countries will go through the cheapest route. I am really only interested in Poland, Russia and Turkey. Poland is free on broadvoice, but not for cellular, which I may

application specific passwords
Hi, Further to the other thread about password guessing activities against our dovecot, I would like to implement application specific passwords on our dovecot. Googling results in some documents, but they are all a bit older: > https://www.happyassassin.net/2014/08/26/adding-application-specific-passwords-to-dovecot-when-using-system-user-accounts/ >

Question about imap (expunge response)
Yeah, that smells bogus. You can't send the EXPUNGE right away, even if you did the EXPUNGE. As the server you're required to wait for a command which allows expunges to happen. I've double-checked the Cyrus IMAP server, and we check usinguid to decide if we can tellexpunge at the end of index_store - aka, only UID STORE will tell the client EXPUNGE responses. Unfortunately, this is

Hidden Markov model in R: books or tutorial biomed/ecology slant
Hi, I was just wondering if there are any books on R that have applications using Hidden Markov models or anyone with tutorials/exercises that can be shared. Ideally, these would have a bio/ecological slant though not neccesarily. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

RE: ext3fs still uses sequential search of file names in director ies?
Andreas was kind enough to point out that not neccesarily all ext3fs have htrees ready to go. I am running redhat8.0 out of the box. How can I check if ext3fs with htrees is running? I can download the kernel source, but I don't know what options were used when it was built by redhat. Thanks much for all of your help. -Parker -----Original Message----- From: Andreas Dilger

RE: ext3fs still uses sequential search of file names in director ies?
Didn't hear back from anyone regarding if there is a way to determine if I am running the ext3fs with htree. Is there a way I can do it without checking the src code since I am running the precompired redhat kernel with 8.0? Perhaps an entry under /proc somewhere? Asterisk TDM card connected to phone linesAND fax line
I tried this with no luck on the machine, seems the fax did not like even ulaw. Ended up just putting it inline, but of course, in a multi-line setup it could be a problem. Just a word of advice, get another line for it if you can. I fought for about a year with my pingtel ip phone over a wireless connection, now I got serious and got a normal line about 5 months ago. Much better off now...

Call Recording with *
I'm attempting to set up call recording with Asterisk. Using automon => *1 ; One Touch Record in features.conf does not appear to be working. I'm using Polycom 501's but when someone dials *1 while in a call, nothing happens. I'm wondering if the phone or Asterisk is even detecting the DTMF. I suspect that is the problem but don't know how to verify or

Bitrate scaling and forward adaptive ?
I read this in the FAQ ( at www.vorbis.com, did everyone make shelters for the slashdot effect ? The Vorbis beta release is not posted yet, but is a matter of <some-time-unit>s :-) > Vorbis has bitrate scaling - a feature that lets you adjust the bitrate > of a Vorbis file or stream without reencoding; just chop the packets up > in the sizes you want them. RE: ext3fs still uses sequential search of file names in director
I'm NOT the authority here, but AFAIK, Htree is presently available only as a patch for 2.4 kernels (which includes RH8). I think that Htree was still beta code at the time RH8 was frozen (and may still be, from RedHat's perspective). I do not have the impression that the Htree patch has been applied in any standard RedHat kernels or kernel updates. I hope I am wrong, and that

ultra-low bitrate stream?
I am writing a long-run sound recording application using OggVorbis. The user can adjust sound quality parameter to make balance between storage space and sound quality. The input sound is 22050Hz, mono. To maximize the recording capability on a given storage volume, we want the result bitrate as low as possible. I use -q0 parameter and it produces a 32.0kbps stream. It is too high (our

Odd MOH problem...
So I decided, for the formal asterisk rollout, to change over to less commercially-infringing MOH than the prior admin had thrown on the server. (plus: it was blown out and nasty sounding over the phones. Ew.) I changed the files in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 to something else (can't dig up the link, but it was from the voip-info wiki). My musiconhold.conf looks like this: ; ; Music on
