Praise and thanks
Hey all, I just wanted to express my thanks for the help and advice that I got off of the list. We have successfully replaced our aging NT4 server with a Sun E250/Solaris 8/Samba 2.2.4/Sunray system, acting as a PDC for our Win98/2k/XP clients (BTW: didn't need to use the XP registry hack at all) and with a Win2k server hanging off of it for application and remote desktop services for the

WinXX file locking on mouse over
Hi everyone, We have found a wierd feature/bug while using Samba 2.2.4. We have gotten it properly set up as a PDC, and have been happily using it in production for about a month now, with very good results. It has replaced our aging WinNT server with much more performance and no problems, other than one inconvenience: When a Windows user running MS Office 2k (this is all we have tested with at

SSH Server and Hash algorithms
OK? So, I have posted on the Centos list, comp.security.ssh, and Linux Forums, and no one seems to have heard of this issue or even have any advice for me. So, I am going to take a shot with the Samba list, since this is related. I have a Centos 6.2 server freshly updated. It is authenticating against an openldap server, and I am having an issue with the hashing algorithms being used by various

Solaris 9/Samba 3.0.21a
Hi list, Having a problem with a newly replaced fileserver. Using V3.0.21a on fully patched Solaris 9 Sparc. uname -a reports Generic_118558-06. Problems reported seem to be linked to file size; for instance, users can't open their .pst or netscape mail files stored on a share of the samba server. Other files seem to open properly, just large files seem to be affected (100 mb or more).
