wine doesn't start dplaysvr.exe
Hello. I have succeeded in getting Fallout Tactics and Age Of Empire II to start multiplayer games. To do so, I had to override dpnhpast for dplaysvr.exe. I wanted to play multiplayer games with a friend of mine, but on his machine wine doesn't even load dplaysvr.exe, so he cannot join multiplayer games. How can he enable dplaysvr.exe? Thanks. -- Fabrice DELENTE

I would have expected that this device would be supported through bcmxcp (serial) and bcmxcp_usb (USB), like

User id for the forwarder ports
Hi, Question: Can a TCP server (running on the same host as the OpenSSH server) know the user id/name of a user forwarding an TCP port ? I.e. if someone on some client machine does ssh -L9999:localhost:9999 someuser at somehost nc localhost 9999 and a service accepts the connection on port localhost:9999 on somehost, can it somehow safely read out the user name "someuser"? New AppDB - I am the only one to hate it?
Until a couple of days ago, I could look in the AppDB like in a tree from category to category and I had the name of the application IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. Now there is some field to click, search by rating .etc but if I want to find my application, I have to go through 200 applications rated by last entries. I seriously don't find anything anymore? Is it a change to make use of the google

World of Warcraft and Wine.
My boyfriend and I have been really frustrated trying to get WoW to work on Jaunty with Wine, We think perhaps one of the biggest problems we're having is downloading the latest patches. Normally when there are new patches they automatically update themselves, but when they go to the loading screen, it freezes and doesn't work. So then we tried getting the patches from a mirror,

Getting no ticket cache from pam_winbind
Hi all, I'm trying to get pam_winbind to create ticket cache on login if the AD is available. Please note that this is an Ubuntu Lucid system. When trace this with wireshark it receives a TGT ticket for the user. The current solution is to use pam_krb5 before attempting winbind. That gives me a ticket cache. The main problem is that if the user enters the wrong password it does two login

AD DC without integrated DNS
Hi all, (Samba 4.9.5-Debian (buster) with BIND 9.11.5.P4) I'm wondering, is it really strictly necessary to use the built-in DNS backend or the BIND9 DLZ plugin, at least in a forest with no Windows Server DCs? The LDAP and Kerberos I can understand, but DNS is just a bunch of records, right? There are a number of records that need to be in place in order for clients to find the DCs and

EZNEC
I'm again trying to run the antenna analysis program EZNEC under Wine. I wrote about this in October. At that time I got a run-time error. This time, the program hangs during startup. On Windows, the program first puts up a splash screen. Under Wine, I see a small rectangular outline - too small for the splash screen - and nothing more happens. The linux shell window output is: libGL error:
