puppet/naginator?
I''m very interested in the way that puppet appears to be able to
generate nagios configurations though I can''t seem to find any
documenation on how it works:
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/naginator
is clearly a placeholder page...
Meanwhile the various pieces of info at links such as:
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/TypeReference#nagios-host
are just teasing me.
Is there any actual documentation for this? I''m hoping the naginator
link above is just a simple matter of...

Naginator and Puppet on different hosts
We were using Naginator resources like nagios_host, etc. along with stored configurations and exported resources. Worked pretty well. However we have to separate the Puppet master and the Icinga (Nagios) server. They will be on different machines from now on. Are there any best practices for such a scenario? I already tho...

Builtin Nagios types
...efault target is /etc/nagios/nagios_<name>.cfg. It''s basically
trivial to change this, but I had to start somewhere.
If you look in lib/puppet/type/nagios*, you''ll see basically one-line
files, since each of the types is just generated using the model I
created in my Naginator[1] library.
Can anyone think of anything I should specifically do better or
differently?
Thanks.

What I''m doing with Puppet
Hi all,
Just reading through Luke''s interview on computerworld.com.au and I
came across this statement:
"This topic comes up on the list periodically, however, and most
people are very tight-lipped about what they''re doing with Puppet."
Being the chattermouth that I am, I''d like to take this opportunity to
tell you all what we''re (that is, my

vncunused always allocating port 0
I think the xen vncunused guest configuration parameter has a bug. I
expected that setting it to 1 would cause xen to allocate the first
available port to each guest in turn for vnc server to service. However,
it always allocates port 0. The result it that all guests are allocated
port 0, but only the first guest allocation gets any service. The actually

Release of libvirt-0.8.2
Following Dan advice, I decided to not wait for more patches and push
the current git head as the release. Let's plan to have another release
by this month end with the QEmu debugging and hacking APIs.
The release is available as usual at ftp://libvirt.org/libvirt
Quite a lot of bug fixes during the two months since 0.8.1, and
a few new feature. It also tagged more commits as being
