extract data features from subsets
I have a large dataset similar to this:
ID time result
A 1 5
A 2 2
A 3 1
A 4 1
A 5 1
A 6 2
A 7 3
A 8 4
B 1 3
B 2 2
B 3 4
B 4 6
B 5 8
I need to extract a number of features for each individual in it (identified by "ID"). These are:
* The lowest result (the nadir)
* The time of the nadir - but if the nadir level is present at >1 time point, I need the minimum and maximum time of nadir
* For the time period from maximum time of nadir to the last result, I need the coefficient from a lm(result~time)
The result would be a table looking like:

Can't find a supported method of using storeconfigs on AWS
I can''t seem to find a sane way of running storeconfigs on the new AWS
server environment I''m working on.
- SQLite is not an option. It becomes unusable far too quickly.
- Using a mysql adapter doesn''t seem to work properly.
- I quickly run into bug #9290<http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/9290>again and again. Which after 2 years STILL

Plurals in English (was Re: ClamAV reports a trojan)
...luralisation of every word adopted
into modern English, then an English speaker would have to learn the
pluralisation rules for far more than just English (see above re
tsunami, octopus but also consider other non old English words such as

For old English words, the pluralisation rules for them was set before
modern English evolved into what we know today so those old rules still
apply.
All in all, makes it a lot easier to know how to spell English plurals.

Hi !
Today i deleted more then 60(!) spam-messages on this list
I think it would be a good idea, to limit the possible senders

[LLVMdev] cs326 mp help - solved
Ah, I see that getAnalysisUsage has a const in its signature,
so I was defining a whole new function, not overriding one.
Fixing that took care of the problem. Sorry to bother!

Time Synchronization. Use NTP (Network time protocol) on your Samba server and Windows clients. This ensures that the time on the Server and Clients is synchronized. This is very important for correct working of Kerberos.

OT: Perfect Pitch
I won't bother quoting all of Moz's statements of how sound
is interpreted by those blessed/cursed with tape recorders
in their heads :)
I will add that his whole explanation of perfect pitch
perception easily offers an explanation as to why
some individuals will only archive flac/pac/ape (Moz - do you?)
and those of us that do not perceive that level of
detail and are fine using ogg

Find a particular point on a curve
Hi,
my question is really precise.
I'm interested in drops of stomacal temperature (of seal pups) following
milk ingestion. Temperature starts at an average of 37.8oC (sd=0.2) and
drops rapidly to around 36.0oC and then stabilizes slowly to a temperature
silimar to the previous one. It looks a bit like an inverse skewed bell
curve.
I want to find different points on that curve, and I have a

using vcut on split ogg files
hi,
I am recording a continuous 24/7 broadcast using ecasound, oggenc and
cronolog.
because the broadcast is continuous and to not lose any data, I split up
the recorded stream into a file for every 30 minutes using cronolog
(http://www.cronolog.org).
o the chain looks like the following:
ecasound | oggenc | cronolog
the problem is the following, because the oggfiles are split, they lack
