using the .C interface to call compiled C code
Dear People,
I have been trying to learn how to use the .C interface. A friend gave me
a toy example, and I have been playing with it. It is
(C code)
#ifdef USING_R
typedef int Sint;
#else
typedef long Sint;
#endif
void kosum(double *a, double *b, Sint *na)
{
int i, j, nab;
double temp;
nab=*na;
temp=0.0;
for(i=0;i < nab; i++)
{
temp=temp+a[i];
}
*b=temp;
}

[RFC-v3 0/5] vhost-scsi: Add support for host virtualized target
From: Nicholas Bellinger <nab at linux-iscsi.org>
Hi folks,
This is the third RFC for vhost-scsi patches against mainline QEMU v1.1
to support the upstream tcm_vhost host virtualized target driver now
available in v3.6-rc kernel code. This series is based upon last week's
commit 346fe0c4c0b, and is aiming for a future QEMU v1.3 merge.

Memory limit for Windows 64bit build of R
Dear all
I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise machine, with 64bit R installed
running on 2 x Quad-core Intel Xeon 5500 processor with 24GB DDR3 1066 Mhz
RAM. I am seeking to analyse very large data sets (perhaps as much as
10GB), without the addtional coding overhead of a package such as
bigmemory().
My question is this - if we were to increase the RAM on the machine to
(say) 128GB,

headerfile translation to Delphi (Pascal) completed
Hi,
I am happy to announce that I finished the translation of almost all
LGPL'ed R headerfiles to Delphi. As a test I did several demos which
basically contain delphized versions of all the examples of chapter 5
in "Writing R Extensions".
Please have a look in the attachments for details
(DemosAndHeaders.txt), more information (Readme.txt) and an example of
how it looks

[PATCH 0/3] virtio/vhost: Add checks for uninitialized VQs
From: Nicholas Bellinger <nab at linux-iscsi.org>
Hi folks,
This series adds a virtio_queue_valid() for use by virtio-pci code in
order to prevent opreations upon uninitialized VQs, that is currently
expected to occur during seabios setup of virtio-scsi.
This also includes a vhost specific check for uninitialized VQs in
vhost_verify_ring_mappings() to avoid this same case.
Please review.

dyn.load problem
Hi R-Users
I wrote 1 week ago asking about a message that appears when I try run
dyn.load.
I'm trying to do an example in C code from "Writing R Extension" to
learn how to do it.
I have R 2.0.0, Rtools, Perl and MinGW as describe in
http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ with path sets.
When I use C:\R\rw2000\bin>RCMD SHLIB -o C:/dev-cpp/teste.dll

[PATCH] hw/virtio-scsi: Set max_target=0 during vhost-scsi operation
From: Nicholas Bellinger <nab at linux-iscsi.org>
This QEMU patch sets VirtIOSCSIConfig->max_target=0 for vhost-scsi operation
to restrict virtio-scsi LLD guest scanning to max_id=0 (a single target ID
instance) when connected to individual tcm_vhost endpoints as requested by
Paolo.
This ensures that virtio-scsi LLD only attempts to scan target IDs up to

.Call and to reclaim the memory by allocVector
Hi,
I am not sure if this is a bug and I apologize if it is something I
didn't read carefully in the R extension manual. My initial search on the
R help and R devel list archive didn't find useful information.
I am using .Call (as written in the R extension manual) for the C code
and have found that the .Call didn't release the memory claimed by
allocVector. Even after applying

I am studying C language to run with R 2.0.0. My system (Windows ME /BR) is configured to run RCMD ( I have installed ActivePerl, Rtools and MinGW as indicated in http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ an with correct path).
I would like run the coded write below named conv.c (Example from "Write R Extension") :
