[LLVMdev] Compiler name: Nāga
Hi, the idea of a dragon theme reminded me of the dragon-like serpents called "Nāga" from Cambodian mythology, among other places. Here's a brief link explaining the specific Cambodian meaning - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_(mythology)#N.C4.81gas_in_Cambodia I like this as a name, because it's unique short and easy to type and remember (as long as you omit the accent, which is commonly done...

We probably want to have the .org available. I like the dragon theme but most of the familiar dragon names are taken. The Hydra of Greek mythology was a dragon-like creature with multiple heads, and hydra.org seems not to exist.

Age of Mythology
So, I installed AoM successfully (I did have the Pidgen.dll problem, but I solved it.) Then, I double clicked the AoM icon in the install folder. At first, the icon appears on my dock...but then it disappears. O.o? Has anybody else experienced this? Also, when installing, it asked me to install the Parser program, which I did (in a "common" folder.) Is that part of the problem? Thanks

Age of Mythology
I got it to install, but when I try to play, it says, "Please insert correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" I've tried using all 3 CD's (2 from original, 1 from the titans expansion), but it always gives me that error thing.

Interesting, my only comment is if we pick this we need to just spell it Naga. Naga are also snake people in D&D (yea... I know). > > Here's a brief link explaining the specific Cambodian meaning - > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_(mythology)#N.C4.81gas_...

[LLVMdev] "Name that compiler"
...manteau could be nice, though. One of the nicer project names I've seen recently is Alexandria, for a book database program ( http://alexandria.rubyforge.org/ ). It unfortunately fails the searchability test, but does brilliantly at reminding you what it is. What about heading off into Greek mythology? Perhaps Dædalus, the greatly skilled Athenian architect that built the palace of Cnossus. There's also Hephæstus, God of smiths, builder of Helios's chariot, maker of Talos, Crete and Europa's guardian robot, and fabricator of the weapons of the Gods; or Lemnos, the island with his wor...

...the llvmdev discussions in separate sections on the page. The two that come to mind are portmanteau and dragons. The portmanteau section could list both the portmanteau names as well as words that could be used in the formation of portmanteau names. The dragon section could go into the mythology of each name. Yes, if you didn't notice, I'm trying to off load some work here. Sorry, but I have a job too :) Reid.

Wine and opengl error!!!
Hi all, I'm having trouble running windows games from Fedora 9, 64 bit, using wine rc3. I've tried Command & Conquer 3, Age Of Mythology and Jazz Jackrabbit 2. All games fail. I mostly get an error saying that direct3d9 won't work without opengl. However, I have opengl. I've run glxgears and it runs fine. Following is the output: 8877 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1775.333 FPS 9327 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1865.338 FPS 9349 frames...

A plethora of problems related to crashes and drawing in AOM
A plethora of problems related to crashes and drawing in the game Age of Mythology Gold. A few of these problems didn't exist in earlier versions of wine. I haven't filed any of these as bug reports but wanted to put what I did find here so I wouldn't lose it. You need mfc42.dll in your System32 directory and you need AOM Gold NoCD patch 1.03 English (aomx.exe) to be...

system wakeup caused by write operations to /var/lib/dovecot/instances
Hi Timo, Thank you very much for replying with an instant solution! Suggestion for future release: a setting in the configuration to enable/disable the automatic instance_update_now action and/or set the timeout by the user. In the meanwhile I can use the recompiled version with this code change. Problem solved for me. Regards, Tijl Timo Sirainen schreef op 2019-02-07 15:59: > On 2 Feb

OT: systemd Poll - So Long, and Thanks for All the fish.
...own"* > bugs - aka backdoors - to all Linux installations using systemd *[1]*. They're conspiracy theories, and that's it. The bottom line is that in general people don't like not understanding things and when they come across something they don't understand they create a mythology around those things to rationalise their non-understanding. Factor in to that the general mindset of Linux hackers/admins that they must know and understand every part of their system and you create the perfect environment for such theories to grow and blossom. Systemd is complex; it's impleme...
