Still hitting odd problems trying to install R 3.5.2 on Debian amd64 machine
My Emails a week or so back were about installing Rstudio and the R shiny server on Debian. I was using an old Toshiba laptop as a sandbox for that and it would only install i386 (same for Ubuntu). Using the information at https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/ I did get to the point where I had R 3.5.2, Rstudio and the server on there (with some help from Dirk that is in the list archives).

Kernel panic in DomU when using swiotlb=force option
I'm trying to get a PVR-150 PCI card imported into a Xen DomU, however the driver blows up the kernel when loaded. The work around for this mentioned in various places is to use swiotlb=force on the DomU kernel. That leads to a fast and furious kernel panic. I've tried this with all Dom0 & DomU running kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.6.el5, bot x86 and 86_64

Along these lines, is there any mythical characters or historical persons which are associated with translation (which is the primary role of a compiler framework)? I can only think of 'Babel', but I'm sure there must be some other possibilities... m.

DNS and DC replication clarification
All, I configured two DCs (Samba version 4.5.5) replicating ad.corp.com in two sites ( https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Active_Directory_Sites) Following 'DNS configuration on Domain Controllers' section from this wiki https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory If I configure nameserver DC1 to be the first resolver for DC2, samba_dnsupdate

Any chance of incrementing the ol'' version number a bit more aggressively? Doing so could really help wxRuby adoption if done right: http://fishbowl.pastiche.org/2003/07/28/version_numbers_and_you -- Ryan "John" Platte Custom services, NIKA Consulting http://nikaconsulting.com/

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] AArch64 Clang CLI interface proposal
...egret leaving that option in for the MIPS port back in 99. Basically this is the only acceptable way for mcpu to exist, but should never have been added to the GCC aarch64 port at all since there's no compatibility with existing build systems to worry about. Fwd: Good installation documentation on samba4?
...n to continue with the guide and when to test the actual working state of the installation at a certain state. In all desperation, I have written my own guide to samba4 installation, but I have no idea if what I did was sufficient, only that it looks ok when testing some functionality. Is there a mythical samba4 guide or are people doomed to endlessly google their questions? Kind regards, Léon

Data scientist // Berlin-based startup using probabilistic models in ecommerce
*Fluidshopping is a Berlin-based startup working on a customer analytics tool for online retailers. Customer Lifefitime Value (CLV) is the mythical 'magic number', the amount of money a particular customer will ever bring in. Knowing your CLV makes it trivial to: - optimize marketing spend for different inbound channels. - identify your highest value customers, - identify those in danger of never coming back. Most shops have a 'gu...
