DNS server with MySQL Backend
Just a quick question,
Does anybody know of a good DNS server with MySQL backend?
We're currently looking at MyDNS.
Has anybody had any experience with MyDNS or other MySQL driven DNS
servers under heavy load?
Also, can anybody recommend a good DNS benchmarking utility?
Thanks for your help,
Bob.

1 Server, Multiple Client Setup
Hello,
I have tried for days on end with no success on this, so I thought I would
post it here and see if someone can help me at all.
*Here's the scenario:*
I have 1 PC with a Static IP/Domain (a dyndns.org account -
myserver.homeip.net) connected to a router, which in turn is the gateway to
the internet. It also has a static local IP (192.168.1.2). I will call this
the "server"

Feedback: DNS workaround Samba 4 vs own zone files
...dns backend. After having
everything in place I recognized that the module does not update the
records in existing zones as expected. Instead it took the control
of the complete zone itself and allows no other GODs (my db.* files
for that zone):
---cut---
named[3013]: samba_dlz: started for DN DC=mydns,DC=domain
named[3013]: samba_dlz: starting configure
named[3013]: samba_dlz: Failed to configure zone 'mydns.domain'
named[3013]: samba_dlz: shutting down
named[3013]: loading configuration: already exists
---cut---
As I won't sacrifice the DNS db.* files grown within the last 10

Mail delivery failing with 450
...livered, but not sure. I guess
I'll see if this one makes the list.
I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a
couple warnings. One is that there's no MX record, but there is.
I use a smarthost for sending mail.
My DNS records are: http://www.obrien-pifer.com/mydns.txt
Anyone see any problems in my DNS records?
Thanks,
James

can't mount smb shares
Hi list,
it's me again. I have 2 samba servers, one as a PDC, the other as a file
server.
I can now join the domain. But it's impossible to mount the smb shares.
The 2 servers are listening on several private networks, using vlans.
10.16.41.0/24 is a routed network, all over the campus. The others are
just nated through a FreeBSD box.
All dns datas are ok and uptodate
