File shares seem to timeout?
Hi, I have a samba server joined to a Win 2000 domain. It all works fine except that for some reason if a Win2KPro client has a file/folder open overnight (or for a long time), then they are disconnected. I can't find a relevant timeout setting when browsing through swat. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Alistair. _________________________________________________________________

Samba.. not worth a f*** for printing
...NT printing 'support'. If you only have decent HP printers then it would have worked fine. Still think the samba developers are amazing to have reverse engineered the network traffic and built it from that. Good on ya lads! XP & 2000 Printer problem
I'm having a problem with my XP & 2000 pc's, with printers. During the initial installation and configuration of these machines, everything is fine. But any printer added to the network AFTER the initial config of the winXP & win2000 pc's, isn't available to these machines. So... if I add any printers to my network, I can't use them with my winXP or win2000

A probably silly thought but...
...s just plug in some more and rebuild. If you want to add more space just add more PCs. :) that would be cool. Obviously you wouldn't use it still for critical data like databases etc, but our user directory would be a good candidate. -----Original Message----- From: samba-bounces+mwestern=sola.com.au@lists.samba.org [mailto:samba-bounces+mwestern=sola.com.au@lists.samba.org] On Behalf Of S Clark Sent: Thursday, 3 March 2005 8:09 AM To: samba@lists.samba.org Subject: [Samba] A probably silly thought but... Kyocera 680 KX and driver uploads failing - anybody have success?
Hi All, Just a quick one. Some turkey has bought a kyocera 680 and we have to set it up for samba print sharing. We have about 35 other HP, Lexmark, and other things working a treat on this server so I know it's all working. When I try to upload the driver for the kyocera it uploads fine from my windoze box and everything looks sweet, I apply and I get the extra tabs as expected for

nmbd woes (still)
Ok I've fed this problem with about five hours of my time to post to a list about it. nmbd does not appear to be doing what it should. Why I'm not certain. The unix host (running samba) is not appearing in on the windows browse list (i.e. it's not showing up in the network neighbourhood). when I run nmbd with -d2 I get the following: Netbios nameserver version 2.2.8 started.
