Equivalent to Full Information Maximum Likelihood (FIML) in R?
...mator for R? If so, is there a way to take covariance structures produced by such a package and perform multiple regression with these? If you are unfamiliar with Mplus' FIML below is a link to their manual. Their estimation technology is discussed on page 25. I have asked the developer of the mvnmle and he was unsure if this package similar. http://www.statmodel.com/download/techappen.pdf Thanks, Sam -- http://theregressingpilgrim.blogspot.com/ [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Full Information Maximum Likelihood estimation method for multivariate sample selection problem
...lation of the errors. I am interested to learn and apply the FIML method of estimation. I searched R resources in internet but I could not get the materials specific to address my following questions. I request R experts/ users to address the following queries. Q.1. hick package of R (e.g. lavaan, mvnmle , stat4 and sem) is appropriate to analyse the multivariate sample selection problem by using FIML estimation method? Q.2. How should it be formulated the code to execute the FIML method ? Q.3. what is the right method similar to log likelihood ratio to determine variables stability in the model?...

"Re-creating" distributions
Dear All,   I often have to work with certain models in which I try to "reproduce" a distribution the best I can with very little known information avaible. Is there a package or function in R that could best reproduce a probability distribution using only the mean, median and SD values availble without knowing the actual distribution type to begin with and/or the covariance matrix (for
