Problem with zcat uncompressing man pages
Hi
When I read 'certain' -- not all -- man pages zcat writes a small error to stderr when opening the man page; however, the man page does actually open. The message i get on the terminal is:
zcat: error writing to output: Broken pipe
zcat: /usr/local/man/man5/muttrc.5.gz: uncompress failed
When closing the man page, another message is shown on stderr:
grotty:<standard input> (<standard input>):54131:fatal error: output error
Would anyone here know the possible cause and fix for this issue?
Best wishes, Jamie.

Logging in to a virtual users Maildir
...ildir gives me my inbox but continuing the process does not
give me acces to any other folders.
The files in my mailbox are from my previous version of Dovecot (V1*)
but I have previously tried to start anew set of mailboxes with similar
results.
I enclose below:-

My muttrc file
a .muttdebug0 file
Dovecot log files show nothing but Dovecot stop/start lines.
Any pointers please?

mutt execution by daemon
...a daemon that needs to use
mutt to email an attachment from a script.
During testing when the app was ran as root everything worked:) Now that
we obviously are running as a user w/o a shell this little bit broke. I
used mutt as I needed to send the attachment as mime, and the ability
to specify a muttrc from the cli when executed was useful so we could tweak
the mail headers etc...
Since there is no local mb's at all on this server, are there any mutt gurus
that know off hand how I can manipulate the behavior of mutt to simply send
w/o looking for a mailbox?
Thanks,

Root has been aliased for decades. This has no impact on where and how mutt stores the mail it sends as root out of root?s crontab.

Local access to IMAP mailboxes

The problem is not transmitting them in the clear but keeping them in
the clear in a local file like muttrc, or entering the password each
time you launch mutt.

Mailing a fax with mutt does not succeed
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to send a received fax with mutt, when I try it from the Linux
shel it works, but when trying with Asterisk's System command it doesn't.
Successful Linux command:
echo | mutt -s "New fax" earohuanca at gmail.com -a /tmp/faxes/201306191111.tif
Unsuccessful Asterisk Command:

Another (these days neo) mutt lover. I'll take this time to spam my own
http://srobb.net/mutt.html page.
Mutt does work with gmail. Hrrm, I'm looking I see I do have the password
used in my msmtprc file. If one just uses a very simple muttrc file file,
it will also work but require the password.
set smtp_url="smtp://scott at gmail.com@smtp.gmail.com:587"
set smtp_pass="scottisawesome"
set ssl_starttls=yes
I feel that everyone should use scottisawesome as their password though
some foolish people disagree. But (...

Why not use Mutt's IMAP capabilities and keep the indexes nice and clean?

i configured it to accept digest-md5 authentication only but for some

in .muttrc everything works...
any idea what is going wrong?
