[LLVMdev] ExecutionEngine always comes back NULL
...the result of mod->dump()). Is there a dylib that I need to include that has some init code that's otherwise not invoked? How can I tell why my ExecutionEngine didn't create? Is there an error code somewhere? I based my code off the HowTouseJIT.cpp example, llvm-as.cpp, and lli.cpp. I must've overlooked something, but I'm not sure what. Any ideas? Thanks! -- Rick

No, and I can neither ssh nor scp over my LAN. We had a lightning strike a month or so back that must've been right next to the house: blindingly bright, and with huge thunder simultaneously. It fried both the cable modem and the router; and I haven't yet managed to install DD-WRT (or whatever may have succeeded it) onto the router.

I assume Tanya must've left some local/test changes in when she was updating the patch with my color diagnostic changes a few weeks ago. The test.cgi was up on the server for a while, but perhaps a recent push from svn to the website caused this file to be deleted. In any case, my recent CR (adding machine arch s...

Samba3, ldap and password expiry
...ES 9. New users setup ok and first logon password change works. Because of HIPAA we need the passwords to change every 30 days however this isn't happening. I thought that I had this working once upon a time while I was testing and getting ready for production but somewhere along the line I must've changed something. At any rate we're moving into production (3 departments so far!) and this has come to my attention. Other relevant data: ldapsearch -x -b "dc=hrh,dc=org" "(ObjectClass=*)" >current_ldapsearch.txt and looking up my account shows: # jslittl, Pe...

'git llvm push' not working for me on Windows
I am consistently getting: `git apply -p2 -` returned 1 error: include/llvm/IR/DIBuilder.h: No such file or directory [[ etc ]] Patch doesn't apply; maybe you should try `git pull -r` first? My usual response to a problem from git-llvm (which is most often an anti-virus issue) is to blow away .git\llvm-upstream-svn but that doesn't help this time. I see James Knight did a

Wow, that must've been a lot of work. This is what I was alluding to in my second paragraph of the previous email, except that I didn't realize someone had actually done it. Of course, OpenGL ES 1.1 is still fixed-function hardware. That's a much easier problem, and not useful beyond current-gen c...

[LLVMdev] debug info for llvm::IntrinsicInst ???
...defined behavior in C++, so it's code that should be fixed anyway. In any case, the reason this produces the debugging experience you're seeing is that LLVM (& GCC, for that matter) assumes that if your class has virtual functions, such as IntrinsicInst, here - then to use the type one must've emitted the vtable for the type somewhere (the C++ standard requires this - if you odr use the type, all the virtual functions must be defined somewhere in the program). The debug info emission attempts to reduce the number of times the debug info for the type is emitted by piggybacking on t...
