Creating a Fedora 11 DomU
Hi All,
I just tried to create a DomU using the following method... (I normally use the Xen install kernel when I create CentOS domus, but when I tried that with the PXE image, that had the same effect as below). This is the first time I have created a Fedora domu in ages... years, even.

[Patch[ xl problems with xendomains
...which appears to be employed
by xendomains. I haven''t thoroughly tested the patch against every
combination of domains sysreq''d, etc, but it appears to work for auto
start, save and restore.
Thanks for reading and I hope this makes sense,
Ian.

VNC access console of paravirtualised DomU
Hi,
I''ve seen this asked a few times, but I just can''t work out whether I am misinterpreting how this is supposed to work, or if it is just broken in my setup.
What I want is to be able to see the character cell console of DomU''s via VNC. As far as I understand, when I create/startup the DomU, then a vnc server should start listening on my Dom0. I have tried every

I thought there was supposed to be an ability for domU''s to be put into a hibernated state (E.g. current running tasks and memory) when dom0 is shutdown or rebooted. When
I look in my /etc/default/xendomains file, I have the variable''s "XENDOMAINS_SAVE=/var/lib/xen/save" and "XENDOMAINS_RESTORE=true". However, when I reboot, I always have

preparing for 4.2.3 and 4.1.6
Aiming at a release some time in August, I''d like to cut RC1-s by
Thursday next week (as I''ll be on a two week vacation starting
Friday).
Please indicate any bug fixes that so far may have been missed
in the backports already done. A few fixes are currently stuck in
master''s staging branch (or pending to make it there) - these
don''t need to be named explicitly,

[PATCH] [Backport 4.2.x] Fix issue with 'xl list -l' showing domids as -1 when using SXP
...fix
(a73a7a0c647a9a5e30d8bc473c0a1e8648817183) was not likely a candidate for
backporting in its entirety.
Therefore, this patch is just an isolation of the hunk to fix the above issue.

Xen 4.2.1 unable to get domain type for domid
Hi guys,
I''m running Xen 4.2.1, compiled manually so I can play with Remus and DRBD,
running on Ubuntu 12.10.
I keep getting this error when trying to start up my first VM to run the
Ubuntu netboot installer.

Slow IDE on GeForce 8200 board
In my haste for help, I stupidly hit reply and changed the subject which I thought was enough for a new message, not giving much thought for the threading, etc. So apologies for the hijack, although I would think it fairly obvious that it wasn't deliberate or obvious to me... or a big deal really. My mail doesn't thread.
Some further info for those actually interested in helping, I forgot

This took me a while to post, but given that we are not starting 4.4
just yet, this may be appropriate now. I may have misrepresented some
stuff as it has been 4 weeks since I wrote these.
Cheers

Xen Kernel 2.6.18-164 and Hypervisor 3.3.1 problem.
Hi,
I just upgraded the my Dom0 kernel on my Xen machine and it failed to boot. The hypervisor itself comes from the Gitco repository.
I couldn't catch the exact reason, other than it said something about no proper root and failing to synch. It rebooted a second or so later and I can't seem to find the relevant log.
As I learned from the other thread this is an early release of the

Git problems when modify xendomains
Hi,
I have cloned the official repository and made a branch to try to sort
out the issues I have with stock xendomains.
When I try to stage my changes, I get this error:-
[me@xen3 init.d]# git add xendomains
The following paths are ignored by one of your .gitignore files:
tools/hotplug/Linux/init.d
Use -f if you really want to add them.
fatal: no files added

Xendomains always broken for me, nobody else?
Hi All,
Everytime I upgrade to a new version of Xen (just did 4.2.1 this weekend) I find the xendomains script completely unusable. I use xl exclusively and the behaviour is slightly different to what the script appears to be expecting.
Am I the only one that has this problem? I have an Ubuntu 12.04 based Xen server and a Scientific Linux 6.3 based server and both suffer the same problem.

Trying to set-up DomU CentOS 7, but get Warning: /dev/root does not exist
I'm trying to set-up a ContOS 7 DomU server. I have used the PXE set-up images like I normally would for earlier versions of CentOS.

disk = ['phy:/dev/xen6/centos7,xvda,w' ]
vif = [ 'mac=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx' ]

Stall on CPU
Hi,
I have been receiving messages on a new DomU''s kern.log. I''ve done a lot
of googling, but haven''t came up with anything very useful, at least not
in a Xen context.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what could be wrong.
From everything I have read, there should be a stack trace included, but
I am not seeing one.
Thanks in advance,
Ian.
