Question: vxvm/dmp or zfs/mpxio
Hello experts,
My client is thinking about changing one of their servers running Solaris 8 (NIS Hub to mention something) to a server running Solaris 10.
The question that i have given is to check the differences or if you wish the status/stability of changing VXvm with DMP (Dynamic Multi Pathing) to a system with ZFS and MPXio. I have made my share of RTFM but not come any closer to an answer.

Rescan /dev/sd* without reboot?
I increased the SAN partition size for a given volume. Is there a way
I can have fdisk recognize the new size without a reboot?
Thanks,

multipath routing
Hi, I am tring to us ip route to load balance between two interfaces.
ip route add equalize 10.200.1.0/24 nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta2
Where neta and neta2 are gre tunnels. Testing show that packets travel in a single sided manner.
Do I need to use the multipath (IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH_CACHED) module?

You will need to recompile your kernel with multpath support. Also
before you compile apply Julian''s patches to the kernel.

Once that is done check out the Nano-HOWTO
http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/nano.txt
That should get you on your way. The linux router will also have to

Another node is heartbeating in our slot! errors with LUN removal/addition
...e "dm-28": another node is heartbeating in our slot!

ERROR: Device "dm-28": another node is heartbeating in our slot!
I'm assuming dm-28 is the old snapshot as now there is no dm-28 in the
multipath map (multpath -ll | grep dm-28). The new snapshot has the
device map name of "dm-29."
I then mount the snapshot LUN (after changing the UUID and label):
