Multitech MVP130 as FXO with asterisk
I've gotten asterisk running fine with several Grandstream phones as well as linphone on my PC. Now the last step is configuring the multitech MVP 130s that I have to send outbound calls to the POTS lines attached to the MVP130s. I'm having issues with the outbound and inbound telephone book entries I believe. The multitechs work fine when configured to talk to each other at remote locations, but getting them to accept a call from...

successful echo cancellation!!! (multitech)
...d of alot of it, could not get rid of it all. We tried everything, every canceller, gain setting, etc... combination possible to no avail. Both the vegastream and mediatrix boxes also could not get rid of all of the echo. So, on an off chance, we bought an 8 port fxs/fxo/e&m gateway made by multitech. The echo cancellation on this device is amazing. There is no trace of the echo and the conversation is still full duplex. And, the box works perfectly with asterisk. Unfortunately, the retail price on these boxes is $3k. Just thought I'd share my experience... -- ____________ Joe Antkow...

MultiTech MT5634ZBA usb modems
Everyone, I have a centos 5.10 machine set up to be a fax server using hylafax+ with three multitech MT5634ZBA modems. I am still in the testing phase of using this system for production, and during my tests I have detected a problem I have not been able to solve except for unplugging the modem from the usb port and plugging it back into the usb port. In the middle of a fax production of aroun...

Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
Colleagues, We're in the process of standardizing on Sprint PCS and Cingular phones on a national basis (~ 50 properties, 1000's of lines). I manage an Asterisk install at one location. I've been looking at the Multitech CellFinder CDMA for Sprint as a dial backup solution. Basically, it's a CDMA to POTS gateway, tied to a PCS account. We would see it as a trunk line and I would like to do LCR and route out the CellFinder line(s)^ all PCS calls, since we have free PCS to PCS. Here's the kicker. Since we&...

FXO ATA?
Is the Sipura 3000 the only way to interface a remote pstn line and connect incoming calls to Asterisk? I have a location connected by network that has a phone line, when the room is occupied I want the line ti ring there as normal, but when the employee is travelling I want the line to be conencted to a ATA that then feeds it as an incoming pstn line to the pbx located at my office so it can

Planning 48 Station Install, Need advice on several topics
...h as the Intel Pentium D 830 3.0GHz / 2MB Cache / 800 FSB / Dual-Core be sufficient for the task? If not, what should I be considering? Also, the system is to have a dual span T1 card such as the Digium T205P or the T207P. One spam will connect to the PSTN while the other span will connect to a MultiTech RAS server. The idea is to look at an inbound call's extension and if it is a data call for the MultiTech, then dial the MultiTech's trunk and pass the data call through. 2. Is there anything inherently wrong with my line of thinking here? 3. Is the Digium dual span card the one to go wi...

Connect many fax lines?
...in the building to plug in lots of fax machines. The plan is to run an Asterisk server for about 100 phones and these fax ports. The big question is what's the best way to connect these fax ports to *? 1) We could use an 8-port T1 card and link 6 Rhino FXS channel banks. 2) We could put 6 MultiTech MultiVOIP FX-24 boxes on the * LAN. 3) or ??? Anyone do something like this before? Any suggestions? I personally like the simplcity of the MultiVOIP boxes, plus the fact that they don't require T1 ports.

Please..... need some help
Sorry if I post in this forum, this may be not the right one, but I hope to find in here some experts which could help me out. I have in one location 8 extensions from a Panasonic PBX ?KX-TD1232? connected to FXO Ports on an MultiVoIP Gateway from Multitech. On the other location I have 8 SP5100 IP-Phones from Micronet as remote extensions. Between the locations I have a VPN. If I call from an IP-Phone to a local extension on the Panasonic PBX or if a local extension from the Panasonic PBX calls to an remote IP-Phone, the voice quali...

FXOs
...t people who have no issues with a product. So, the nature of my inquiry is to explore how many people out here have good/great experiences with the various small FXO adapters? While the TDM-400 is my next possible purchase I'd also like to hear about devices from Welltech, Clipcomm, Micronet, Multitech, Immixtel, etc. With so many products being offered I would hope that we have some collective experience with each one. TI USB 3410-5052 for CentOS 4.7
Hi, I am trying to build the driver for the TI USB 3410/5052 family of devices. Specifically, I am trying to hook up a MultiTech GSM modem. I have the source for the driver which came with the modem. However, I beating my head against the wall trying to get around the usb-serial.h not found error. I have found references saying usb-serial.h has been moved. Even though I have pulled down kernel-2.6.9-78.src.rpm I ca...

ISDN BRI active adapters with NT mode - any alternatives ?
Having ISDN FXOs and a bunch of ISDN DECT base stations, I went looking for a CAPI compatible active BRI adapter capable of NT mode. I have found that the 'Eicon Diva Server 4BRI' fulfills theses requirements. However, at EUR 1387 for four BRI interfaces, it does not come cheap. Are there other users of similar hardware that can point me to alternatives ?

Large number of prefixes in a route to a trunk
We're beginning to test MultiTech's CallFinder CDMA Units, one for Sprint PCS and one for Alltel. They sell both. Our intent is to use them as a backup line for our main office (which has a PRI) and a backup/911 line for our remote offices which are all connected via * over a VPN with no local trunks at any of them. In the i...

FXO to IAX on ethernet. or FXO to SIP on Ethernet
Now I have searched around and not seen anything to do this. I want to in remote locations were we need to have single or 2 PSTN lines for in dial as little hardware as possible and as stable as possible so that they will operate without user intervention. What I want to do is be able to take a single PSTN line in and go out through adsl for the Inet link. These would be in VERY remote

...ith incredible success in the future. I'm considering building the box on that platform. 3. I am also responsible for delivering inbound faxes to the DID numbers via Email. I.E. customer has a document faxed to them and they get it in Email as a tiff. I'm considering using Hylfax with a Multitech DID capable modem, but other suggestions are welcomed! 4. I have built some cost for support from Digium and/or other Asterisk experts into the budget. Does Digium have paid support plans? What about other consultants out there? I'm just trying to make sure that I cover all the bases. This...

Recommendation for FXO
Ok, I am back from my thanksgiving holiday, and I find there was a big snow storm here in Seattle. Apparently during the storm there where multiple brown out/black outs. I have struggled since day one to get a high quality PSTN gateway configured with my very long loop and Mac based asterisk. I originally tried the HT-488, which had multiple issues, and was unacceptable. I then purchased
