Error: can not allocate vector of 117.3 Mb
Hi R users,   I am doing multiscale bootstrapping for clustering through pvclust package. I have large data set (observations 182 and variables 5546). When i tried to make bootstrapping, then i got message as "Bootstrap (r = 0.5)............Error: cannot allocate vector of size 117.3 Mb". I am new R user and could not under...

For the similar problem, I have used "match" function and do some manipulate to identify the index of the first appearance of each value but is there any better and neat way to achieve the same function? Wavelets correlation test
Hello, I use wavethresh packages to perform wavelet analysis. In particular, I would like to compare 2 signals (vectors) after a wavelet decomposition. I would like to use cor.test function, but this function acts on the entire vector values. I plan to perform a cor.test on each level of the wavelet decomposition, say N. So I will have at the end of a first step N results of cor.test. How can

...useful for computational modelling of biological systems. This encompasses computational model assembly, modification, maintenance, execution, simulation, optimisation, parameter estimation etc. Parameter sensitivity spectrum analysis, ensemble simulation, model-based data analysis techniques, multiscale modelling, 'e-BioScience' approaches and data assimilation methods may be part of the project. Demonstration of the effectiveness of developed methods by application to modelling of some of the example biological systems is desirable. This Systems Bioinformatics project is funded by Th...

[SoC09-Idea] Movement Ecology add-ons for adehabitat package
...r, i.e. an indirect index of the scale at which habtat resources are 'perceived'. It has already been shown using simulations (Nams 2005; Oecologia 143: 179-188) that the fractal dimension D of a trajectory changes within scales, and that the fractal dimension could be a valuable tool in multiscale analysis of wildlife movement patterns. The adehabitat package, increasingly used as a free-open source alternative in radiiotracking and animal habitat selection studies, already has base functions to deal with trajectories in time and space, both as regular samples (e.g. data from GPS radio t...
