Bug#622814: klibc: patch to make klcc play nice with multiarch linux-libc-dev
Package: klibc Version: 1.5.20-1 Severity: normal Tags: patch User: ubuntu-devel at lists.ubuntu.com Usertags: origin-ubuntu natty ubuntu-patch Hi maks, Since the Ubuntu linux-libc-dev is now installing its asm headers to the multiarch /usr/include/<triplet>/ directory to allow co-installability, I've pushed the attached patch to Ubuntu so klcc knows to include this path when searching for headers. It should be safe to apply in Debian today, in advance of linux-libc-dev switching to multiarch, so I'm forwarding it...

R CMD check --force-multiarch does not install all the archs for testing
Hi, Why isn't 'R CMD check --force-multiarch' installing the package for all the architectures that are going to be checked? For some packages, it only installs for the default arch ('i386'). Then testing the package for 'x64' fails. For example, Output of R CMD check --force-multiarch fabia_1.5.0.tar.gz: ---------------...

Thai vignette, cross-compile for Mac OS X, universal/multiarch (Fwd: Mac OS X builds of CelQuantileNorm, vcftools/samtools/tabix, and snpStats)
...be working. See screenshots below. I'd be interested to know if there are less obvious bugs; however numerical difference with native snpStats 1.5.5 is more likely because 1.5.5 is buggy than 1.5.5.1 mis-compiled. Also noticed that R on Mac OS X is universal, with symlinks to the per-arch multiarch dylibs. Is there any plans for R packages to switch over to universal instead of multi-arch? (the sentence below as strictly speaking wrong - the R package was cross-compiled to multi-arch rather than universal). FYI a few other not-so-relevant things but may be useful to some. -------- Origina...

[PATCH pkg-libvirt/libguestfs] Remove update-guestfs-appliance
[First attempt to send this using git send-email didn't work because of SMTP routing problems] Hilko, This is my experimental patch to remove update-guestfs-appliance from Debian. Package: gcc-4.7 Version: 4.7.0-12 Severity: serious Justification: breaks unrelated software The following scenario is broken: I would expect the link to fail. ...I had both 32- and 64-bit Java installed but only the 64-bit was in the path.? I added the 32-bit, but that did not fix the problem.? The last 2.5 lines in the section "How to install rJava on Windows?" to which you referred me reads: to build rJava from source, you need the --merge-multiarch flag: install.packages('rJava', type = 'source', INSTALL_opts='--merge-multiarch') ????? When I tried that, I got: Warning in system("sh ./configure.win") : 'sh' not found *** ON THE OTHER HAND:? The error message above says 'c:/Program Files/R/...

Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
I see, so you kept the load.on.delay command but removed the check to see if it was handled. Did you do the same thing for the shutdown.stayoff logic? https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/blob/master/drivers/usbhid-ups.c#L562 This might be a dumb question but did this require you to recompile the kernel? These types of changes are way beyond my depth. Thank you for the direction! On Thu, Jan

Rcmd build 32bit-only package on win7 64 bit platform?
Is it possible to suppress compiling for the x64 arch when doing 'Rcmd build <mypkg>? Such that the pre-compiled package for binary distribution only contains a 'lib/i386/mypkg.dll'. For CHECK (and also INSTALL) there is a '--no-multiarch' argument, but I didn't find something similar for build. Otherwise, I suppose, I could - handle the problem in Makevars or Makefile or - build the shlib manually and put it at the correct place or - provide a placeholder library with C (my code is Delphi, 64bit should/will come next year)...

packages checks on OS X with 2.12 devel
...D check package I see: * using platform: x86_64-apple-darwin9.8.0 (64-bit) ? * loading checks for arch ?i386? ? * loading checks for arch ?x86_64? ? ** running examples for arch ?i386? The check then fails since the packages are not installed on i386. I tried R --arch=x86_64 --no-multiarch CMD check package but that still runs checks on x86_64 and i386. I didn't find anything else in the "what's new" for the latest devel version. I'd prefer not to install the full crane and bioconductor set in both architectures. Any suggestions (especially for the documentati...
