pnm2ppa gone, in any repo?
I can't get my HP DeskJet 712C to print via cups. I believe the reason is that according to http://www.redhat.com/archives/epel-devel-list/2007-May/msg00002.html the pnm2ppa filter got dropped between RHEL 4 and RHEL 5, or between Fedora 6 and RHEL 5, depending on how you look at it. Foomatic still generates the pnm2ppa.xml file, but there is no pnm2ppa binary filter installed, so any print attempt ends with an error message. I don't find that...

xen 2.6.26 on amd64 console troubles
...ut it seems to "freeze" after the kernel has booted. Googling a bit, shows that I seem to have the problem that the kernel is not finding or using the correct console: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xen-3.1/+bug/144631 http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-09/msg00002.html Currently, I'm trying this in /etc/xen/test.cfg: extra = "console=hvc0 xencons=hvc0" and in the DomU I have in /etc/inittab: 1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1 When I run xm create -c test.cfg, nothing happens anymore once all init scripts have finished (no login prompt app...

[PATCH 0/2] launch: Add add_drive 'label' option
This completes the implementation previously posted here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2012-October/msg00002.html Instead of using 'serial', the option is now called 'label' and these are collectively called disk labels. Also the updated patch adds a test. Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones Read my programming blog: http://rwmj.wordp...

Passing "allow_unsafe" appears not to workaround protection for CVE-2012-2934
...in xm dmesg, and I am still unable to build a DomU. I''m using a machine with AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 254 chips. This chipset appears in this CVE: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2012-2934, and is discussed here: http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-announce/2012-06/msg00002.html The announcement explicitly says: "A command line override is provided to allow users who accept the risks or who are able to mitigate as above to continue to do so. To activate the override add "allow_unsafe" to your hypervisor command line" This is a test system, and I...

help please - running a guest from an iSCSI disk ? getting more diagnostics than "cannot make domain: -3" ? how to make domain0 "privileged" ?
Good day - This is my first post to this list , and I''m new to Xen - any help on this issue would be much appreciated . I downloaded, built and installed xen-4.2.1 (hypervisor and tools) on an x86_64 ArchLinux box updated to latest software as of today. I am trying to bring up a Linux guest from a remote iSCSI disk. The iSCSI-initiator (open-iscsi) logs in to the remote target OK and

xen over quemu OR quemu in Xen domU on a system with HVM-capable CPU
Hello all, I know that the question: Is it possible to run quemu inside Xen domU or run Xen domain 0 on quemu have discussed earlier in this mail list. As far as I remember this is possible except such a configuration where kquemu acceleration is in use. But what about HVM-capable systems? Please tell me are there the same restrictions for the hvm-capable systems? Thank you! -- WBR,
