RC2 vs. beta4 (test)
...0817) library version, 256 kbit/s mode, channel coupling disabled at RC2. The beta4 is very good at the 10. encoding too, but the RC2 has some interesting quality bugs. So, the songs: They are OGG files (not compressed zip), just rename them to OGG! 1. encoding with beta4: http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/010620_01.zip 10. encoding with beta4: http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/010620_10.zip 10. encoding with RC2: http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/010817_10.zip I tested on lower bitrates and with channel coupling too. DOS commandline decoder for Ogg beta4?
Help-- I've been experimenting with the encoder, using lots of different types of music, and I'm floored by great sound quality of the ogg format. Here's my problem--- I prefer not to use the Windows graphical environment for encoding or decoding, regardless of how good the program (like dbPowerAMP), but I can't find a DOS commandline decoder for converting Ogg files back to

Oggenc ideas / source and request
...ello everybody, I've put some functions/modifications into the Ogg Vorbis encoder source. (The new functions are in the first 500 lines of the oggenc.c, some definitions are in the oggenc.h) I hope, you can use it. Here is the full source (same source on 3 locations): http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/oggenc.zip http://www.tar.hu/mpxplay/oggenc.zip http://www.extra.hu/galileog/oggenc.zip what's new or modified: - wav-header and wav-data-len handling - multichannel encoding - header update (after encoding) with an average bitrate value (into the vi.bitrate_nominal variable) - 64bit floati...

Hi! <p>First the question "How fast are the encoders/decoders?" ( quoted below ) in the FAQ ( http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp ) should be updated to include v1.0. Ogg Vorbis ripping/encoding on Windows
...bis since I am using a Linux idiot-proof program 'Grip.' (Thank you, Monty, I owe you in both Ogg Vorbis and Cdparanoia). However, at least, they are not using early bata vesions and I know they are good programs. I'll put Jernej's favourite as well. comparison of beta2 and beta3 encoder quality
...(i.e. typedef float ogg_float_t), but I would be happy if you would use 'bouble' by default... Or at least, the possibility of the more precision and more clear sound. So, the Ogg Vorbis is very good, maybe with these modifications it could be perfect too. incerely Attila Padar author of Mpxplay (ogg support under construction) --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Oggenc bug & other
...d, the encoder/decoder makes some large clips in the output file, if the bitrate is 350kbit/s . If I use 256kbit/s or less - it seems - the problem's gone. There is a sample audio file related to this problem at http://padara.tripod.com/TR12.ZIP and at http://www.geocities.com/mpxplay/TR12.ZIP locations. (a short wav and ogg file) This file is not a special case, I get the same bug at every 4.-5. song (ripped from CDs), usually at the end of files. Used command line options: oggenc.exe -b350 track12.wav (btw1: during the encoding we get a 'Domain error in acos...

Batch-Tagging oggs?
Hello all. Quick question ('Cause I'm famished and have to get something to eat) If I have a batch of files (wave and/or ogg) with a certain naming scheme. Would it be possible for me to write a small nifty (newbie) dos-batch program that could tag those ogg-files (or encode the waves with tags) with regards to the namin parameters. Let me clarify. I usually encode waves with the

Uncoupled mode?
Hello, A question: Can we use uncoupled encoding in the 1.0? (current CVS) How? Because I see some uncoupled definitions (books\uncoupled\res_books_uncoupled.h), but I don't know how could I switch to it manually. Perhaps with an option in the vorbis_encode_ctl() function... Because I think so it's better if I don't use any kind of channel coupling (lossless neither) on high bitrates
