[PATCH] drm/nouveau/mpeg: print more debug info when rejecting dma objects
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu>

This was helpful when debugging our earlier mpeg woes. May as well have it upstream.

This is just a nice-to-have, as it only affects an error print afterwards.

MPEG-LA answers some questions about AVC/H.264 licensing
I've compiled all the e-mails between me & MPEG-LA, along with an
explanation and some major conclusions, here:
http://www.librevideo.org/blog/2010/06/14/mpeg-la-answers-some-questions-about-avch-264-licensing/
Comments welcome, discussion even more so (preferably some of that on
the site, too...).

icecast strangeness...
I've been trying to figure out as to why sometimes connections are
properly negotiated and sometimes not.
For example, using mpg123 as a client, I point it at my server
(live.wuga.org):
Directory: http://live.wuga.org/
Playing MPEG stream from ...
MPEG 1.0 layer I, 96 kbit/s, 44100 Hz stereo
Illegal Audio-MPEG-Header 0x62dd8776 at offset 0xfffffffb.
It has improperly negotiated the connection and immediately craps out.
I try again:
Directory: http://live.wuga.org/
Playing MPEG stream from ....

Of course I understoud only 50% of what he said, as well as I am not
really used with codec and video glossary...
But I generally understoud his opinion. What to think? I would like not
to believe him, espacially when he assumes Theora is as "good" as
MPEG-1... so...

Renegade MPEG member: Intro and volunteerism
...Vorbis (see below), it's a credit
to Monty that the work has progressed as far as it has.
I'm presenting finishing my Ph.D. in the Machine Listening
Group at the MIT Media Lab, where I do research on all
kinds of digital-audio processing and psychoacoustics
topics. I was a member of the MPEG committee from 1996
through 1999 and was one of the primary authors and an
Editor of the MPEG-4 audio standard. The parts of
MPEG-4 that I developed and contributed are now the only
patent-free and public-domain parts of the standard.
(The parts called "Structured Audio", for downloadab...

Review of Mpeg-4 & on2's vp3...
The site:
http://www.techimo.com/articles/index.pl?photo=33&SID=12&tag=SNnb323
has a review & comparison of several mpeg-4 codecs, and they also
include vp3. (Be warned, it's a very big web page, due to all of the
image examples!)
Not really all that informative, but I thought somebody might be
interested in hearing about it.

Video and audio not in sync
...D in case
I might ever want to watch them again. (Not that you care, butthis
really is for my own personal use. I wouldn't have the bandwidth to
"share" this stuff even if I wanted to.)
So I downloaded a 1 hour show with TiVo ToGo, and I jumped through a few
hoops to "free the mpeg", and I got a nice 2 GB mpeg file that looked
and sounded great in mplayer. But it doesn't fit on a CD.
So I ran:
ffmpeg2theora free.mpeg -x 320 -y 240 -o free.ogg
(320x240 seems like about the right tradeoff between image quality and
file size.)
Then I tried to play free.ogg in both...

Website for Ogg/Vorbis support for MPEG4IP
Hi
I have created a small website trying to document my Ogg/Vorbis support for MPEG4IP.
You can find it here.
