Split plot analysis problems
Hello,
I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hand with my split
plot design problems.
So here is my design :
I am studying the crossed-effects of water (wet/dry) and mowing
(mowed/not-mowed = nm) on plant height (PH) within 2 types of plant
communities (Xerobromion and Mesobromion) :
- Within each type of communities, I have localised 4 blocks
- In each block, I have defined 4 plots in order to have the 4
possible treatments of both the water and mowing facto...

Crap. Didn't know where he lived. If you're reading this, Johnny, stay
safe, and if you were supposed to have evacuated, hope you did.

Shafer's MIX: Query on code
Thanks to Fernando Tusell and especially to Brian Ripley for
their work on 'mix', leading to an apparently good package
mow available on CRAN.
Going through the R code for the function prelim.mix, I am
wondering why the following method of calculation is used
at one point:
umd <- as.integer(round(exp(cumsum(log(d)))))
(d is a vector containing, in effect, the numbers of levels of
the factors in col1, col2, ... o...

Thunderbird update without announcement?
Hi,
I usually receive updates after the related announcement has hit my
inbox. But today I see a thunderbird update, but no message on
centos-announce yet, not even in the archives.

problem with strata in boot
Hello,
I am new to R, and am having trouble running a stratified bootstrap.
My data set consists of 38 study sites in which I recorded the number
of bird pairs. Each site has been classified as burned or mowed and
for each of these two strata I would like to determine the precision
of an overall density estimate. I can run an unstratified bootstrap
without problem, but when I specify the strata I get the same
unstratified result.

Suggesting Vorbis Test Suite
...recoded from WAV, but it
would probably much more perfect if the sweep were done in Vorbis' frequency
domain. (i.e. oggenc would guess the frequency from discrete samples, so it would
be better to directly feed the frequencies into the encoder, but the matchs were
too complicated for me))
Mow well that's it.

VoicePulse Connect
Asterisk Users,
Has anybody use Voicepulse Connect for Asterisk?
I am trying to cover all my bases because in the past, I got burned with
poor quality of service, along with failed DTMF tones with 3 different SIP
Providers (Vitelity, Broadvoice, and Teliax).
I am running Asterisk 1.2.13 on the Debian Etch system, using the SIP
protocol. Any insights would be great. Thanks.

mounting smbfs...
Hi.
I've been at it for a solid week now....trying to figure out how to mount a
smbfs-resource at boot. See i need to do the following;
mount -t smbfs //<machine_name>/<share> /home/<usr_name>/music
...only thing is, I have to run the cmd as a regular user. The easiest thing
would offcourse be to have i run at when booting, but i don't know how to do
that. Any help

[PATCH] Change fallback name for external supermin helper
Use basename of external helper instead of 'no' for external supermin
helpers. This gives a clear error messages what binary is actually
missing, and it is now possible to install the missing package without
recompiling libguestfs. In addition its now also possible to use private
builds of supermin (if they are in PATH) with a given libguestfs binary
package.

Win32 DLL
I've put together a first cut for a Win32 DLL using the BladeEnc interface.
Right now, it's just a drop-in replacement for BladeEnc.dll that ignores all
encoding parameters passed to it and uses the info_A vorbis_info struct
(same as the encoder_example).
It's not particularly useful as of yet, but you can rename it to
BladeEnc.dll and use it with any number of rippers out there

Re: [PATCH] Change fallback name for external supermin helper
...le this change removes the hard dependency of BuildRequires:. But I
see, if the appliance is enabled then it would now fail with this
change. In my packaging the appliance is not enabled because zypp
support in supermin is not yet complete, so I did not spot this part.
So just drop this patch for mow, unless you want to remove the version
check as well.

confused about iax and voip providers termination
Hey guys,
I'm actively trying to get the "big" picture on how all this works and
relates to each other.
I've gone through some basic examples from the book and from the sample
files just fine.
Now, I've setup an account with a VOIP provider which does IAX termination
(exgn.net)
After getting an account and following their steps, I can make calls out
using my IAX (cubix) and

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
