NHW Project - some update
..., and again
any help would be very very welcome! Again if you can provide any help to
the NHW Project, do not hesitate to show up, would be so much appreciated!!!
The NHW codec has a high speed, which makes it a good candidate for mobile,
embedded devices. There are currently some exploration for a MotionJPEG
replacement on low power processor (dual-core 240MHz Xtensa LX6) where
MotionJPEG appears to be too heavyweight.
With the recent updates, I think the NHW Project is still patent-free and
royalty-free. And just the fact that it is royalty-free, should be worth
the try.
So with this new version, I...

NHW Project - some update
...oon, when the new video compression standard: AOM or MPEG
establishes, the NHW Project will quickly disappear (or die of old age), so
finally I don't know if it's really worth to make a website for the NHW
Project whereas it will soon disappear...
There was still the opportunity to replace MotionJPEG, but the author of
the study told me that in fact MotionJPEG is not used for its performance
but because JPEG is widely supported...
So again, despite all the encouragements I had on this channel (and I thank
you so much again), I still think the NHW Project has not and will not find
an interest i...

NHW Project - Is there interested people?
...it and since the
last years, I have seriously started to lose my energy for this project,
and furthermore now there is no future for it.
However it would be great to find someone that could take over the NHW
Project.Turning it into a video codec for example, because there was
interest in NHW for a MotionJPEG replacement, because a company was
considering MJPEG for low-power camera devices, and MJPEG was too
heavyweight for their processor (dual-core 240MHz Xtensa LX6, if I remember
correctly). For now with rough calculation based on the latest Independent
JPEG Group (IJG) C source code, NHW is 1.5x fast...
