new forest (Siemens and MS claim it to be the largest one on the planet)
it is very strict about permissions after severe incident in the last
forest. It took us weeks to find someone who is willing to join our
servers once in a while. I guess this can be/is the case in many large
companies. Morover, I will request a server which shall precreate
machine accounts. This will make us independent from humans, but Samba
won't play well with that. At last, if the colleague is on sick leave or
else and we have to reset the account for whatsoever reason, we are bust!

Sometimes I feel like I should have not added the functionality.
Guessing the correct limit for a process is like solving a Halting
problem. It cannot be calculated by any algorithm and the best we can do
is increase the limit once somebody is already in a trouble. D'oh!
Morover, if somebody comes by and tell us about it, we blindly size the
limit up without knowing that the qemu is not mem-leaking for sure (in
which case the limit is right and OOM killer did the right thing). The
more problems are reported the more I'm closer to writing a patch which
removes this he...

...is on E-Views, Stata and SAS. I do not use any extra setting,
just the plain default. I did several regressions choosing starting values for
b4 on the seq(-1,1,.01) series. It did find the correct values (with
`globally' smallest RSS), but the result is strongly dependent on the initial
values. Morover, the good result comes from a `bad' initial value! I have
read that the nonlinear optimizer/minimizer will change in the future, but
this is funny. And it happens when I use R-devel, anyway. Anyone had the same
problem?
Thanks,

Running off pre-created keytabs
Hi folks,
we'd like to provision new Samba servers (file sharing only) with the
system keytab. It will precreated by some other process (msktutil)
because we don't have direct access to a domain admin account. Is there
any degragation in functionality by not using "secrets and keytab" and
not doing "net ads join"?
This is somewhat similiar to my question from

Providing limited CRUD access to arbitrary tables through a web interface.
...to view 21-40.
Another desired - though not required - feature is for admin to be able to retrieve and update tables with arbitrary inner joins. For instance, he would view an "events" table, and within it he would have a person, with her details taken from the "people" table. Morover he should be able to not only transparently retrieve JOINed data but also update it. (E.g. change the person''s phone number, affecting the "people" table, although changing other fields in the very same HTML form would cause change to a different table, the "events" t...

Out of curiousity...I wonder if anyone has an idea of how many centos
