glmmADMB
Hi there,
I am new to the package glmmadmb, but need it to perform a zero-inflated
gzlmm with a binomial error structure. I can't seem to get it to work
without getting some strange error messages.
I am trying to find out what is affecting the number of seabird calls on an
array of recorders placed at 4 sites on 6 islands. I have nightly variables

smbspool to Windows 2000 Server: "ERRgeneral opening remote file"
Hi,
I am trying to print from my Debian unstable Notebook to a printer
that is connected to a Windows 2000 Server. Target environment is CUPS
which uses smbspool as a front-end, and smbspool gives a strange error
message.
| export DEVICE_URI="smb://account:password@domain/server/printer"
| smbspool foo bar Title 1 ignore Makefile
gives the error message

uninitialized constant ActsAsFerret (NameError)
Hi all,
I have another problem that I fight with for some time and I could not
understand where is the problem. Probably the problem is that I am quite
"green" in RR :)
I am trying to make the Demo Application that comes with Ferret to work
but I guess something with my environment is not OK.
I will do apreciate any help.

lme model specification
I have been asked to analyse the results of (what is to me) a very
complicated experiment.
The dependent measure is the estimated distance, which is measured as a
function of the actual distance. There are also several other IVs.
The plot of log estimated distance as a function of log distance is
linear. So in the rest of the analysis I will use logestimate and
logdistance.
My plan is to see

Samba 3 and LDAP - Error loading profiles
Hi,
I'm setting up Samba with ldap backend and everythin appears to be working
correctly except for profiles.
Using:
samba-3.0.2
openldap-2.1.26
smbldap-tools-0.8.4
When a user 'testa' tries to logon from a Win2K system that has joined the
domain he gets the following error message:

help with Windows based deployment
Hello,
I am looking for someone that has production experience deploying Rails
to a Windows-based platform to help spec and configure our environment.
This is initially a small contracting opportunity that may lead to
on-going development work if I like you. All work off-site,
moonlighting ok. Ideally you will be able to some publically available
sites that are deployed on Windows.
I wasn''t sure if this is an appropriate forum for this type of post -
there did seem to be a few others. Sorry if it isn''t.
Contact me only via email please.
Thanks,
Dan Munk

I have an email where I need to edit the body. I know this is generally a bad idea, but in this case I need to do it. The email comes in automatically every week or two, and so I thought that SIEVE would be the way to go.

I think I figured out how to get wine to run the .net framework very well
I have recently heard about the silverlight project. The silverlight project is a plugin released by Microsoft for Linux that allows the use of .Net based apps on Linux. My only disagreement with using this plugin is the fact that Microsoft has been accessing XP and Vista systems without permission and changing software as stated by ZDnet. They call it Stealth Updating. Anyway that does not mean

The use for an XML based metadata format
Daniel,
these are all good ideas and worth progressing. However, it may be
better not to merge too many goals in one format (MPEG-7 did that and
ended up as a big mess). So, I suggest to start by structuring the
types of things you want - then finding out which parts belong where
into existing formats such as vorbis comment, Skeleton and CMML, and
only then start to develop a new format.

Limiting bandwidth to around max. 8k per second - possible? UPDATE
Ok, we got it working with 176x144 resolution.
The following string produced an image that was not falling behind too
much for too long - basically a little when it was getting TONS of
movement, and then catching up fast.
"65 58 110 0 1 1 90 8 120 1 1 "
Now, we need to get this working on a 320x240 resolution, too (as sadly
VP3 does not support 160x120. Seems to be a little senseless,
