symlink on Linux vs. Windows clients
I'm using SAMBA for many years, in my SOHO - I'm quite satisfied. One small question is up every time when I'm creating a symlink on the SAMBA server box from a share to point to a moint point for example /mnt/some_block_device (of course read/writable for particular user), windows cleanly "see" it, as a directory entry - I c?an copy/remove do everything what could be done on the share. When I'm using the same share on a Linux box (I'm a Debian lover) it's see...

...re" problem with the m3u extension. I read somewhere to add ".m3u" in a link on a web page to make winamp load and play the stream. It works very fine, but ONLY in my LAN. When I call http://192.168.1.2:8002/status.xsl, i got the "click here to listen" which is link to the moint point + .m3u (/MyStream.ogg.m3u) I click, winamp load and play the stream. --> Perfect! But, i then checked from to outside, so I unplugged from the LAN, use a modem to connect the net through my ISP, I got a dyndns.org account with a client that keep the IP address of my server up to date. I...

You'll have to wait until 2.1 is released (which should have this feature) if you want to use it without having to patch the source code yourself. Mike --- >8 ---- List

...djs, one in echat part of brasil. They stream to the icecast server from your studio. The listenners ear the radio from the link http://play.ircbrasil.com.br that is a web forward do http://www.ircbrasil.com.br:8500/ircbrasil.ogg So, whats happend? ALL djs connect to icecast server with the same moint point, the ircbrasil.ogg. At every hour, the old dj say GO GO GO, so he disconnect from icecast server and the new dj connect at the same time. When i was using shoutcast, this was very fine, but with icecast, all my listenners have been disconnect when its happend. Some people of #icecast channel...

A mountpiont is a fragment of a URL (often referred to as a URI) like '/stream1' or '/my_cool_stuff/stream.ogg' You tell shout, ices, or whatever what mountpoint to use.

Trouble mounting a windows share from Linux
I have Fedora Core 1 workstations configured with winbind logging onto our NT domain. Everything is going well except that I cannot seem to figure out how to connect to a windows home directory on a Win2000 server. Here is the scenario: W2K server with home directories for each user: Each user has modify permissions to their share Administrator has full control First off, I need to somehow

...something accessible" and the mountpoint > just becomes an artitrary moniker. That much I figured out. I'm trying to use winamp to set up a remote broadcast. Where do I tell (either icecast or winamp) what the mount point is. When I use the shoutcast source it appears to create a mount moint cammed ice_0. I have no idea where that comes from. I see the /etc/mounts.aut file and the groups.aut and users.aut. I just don't see where I make a connection between streem comming in and "mount point" goint out. Thanks in advance SG PS - I hope someone is keeping track of this...

Dovecot on GlusterFS via NFS is... strange.
...m not sure if this readdir() error is actually related to the other issue.) So, this caused the imap process to die repeatedly and the user got disconnected many many times. In this state the mail services were not really usable. Side note: The NFS share was mounted by using the most conservative moint options I could think of: vers=4.1,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,nosharecache,noac,nordirplus,proto=tcp And if you're wondering: Yes, I'm using Dovecot director for IMAP and LMTP (currently running 3 VMs for Dovecot director and 3 VMs for Dovecot IMAP). Then the fun began... I've decided...

When I use the shoutcast source it appears to create a mount > moint cammed ice_0. I have no idea where that comes from. If you use Nullsoft's tools, you cannot specify mount points. That's because the Nullsoft team never added multiple streams per server. If you run shoutcast, you have to create extra servers. If you send an icy (shoutcast-style) stream...

Plan for libguestfs 1.30
It has been a ludicrously long time (over 8 months) since the last stable release of libguestfs. So I'd like to plan a new 1.30 release soon. Please follow-up if there are features / blockers / bugs that need to be addressed for 1.30. As usual, bugs which have "1.30" (without quotes) in the Devel Whiteboard field in Bugzilla are nominated as blockers for the release. You can see
