Icecast 2.0.1 segmentation fault under LInux
...y. I've not yet upgraded it to 2.0.2. I thought I'd report
this crash bug first as the release note seemed to suggest that the fix
there was only for Windows. I'm thinking that either this is a separate
problem or it's an example of the same one under LInux, thereby making it
moer important for *nix users to upgrade than the release note suggested.
Here's GDB's output:

Speex preprocess & loudness
Hi,
Does someone know if I could use SpeexPreprocessState::loudness or
SpeexPreprocessState::loudness2 to create a VU meter. And if so, how?
<p>Thanks,
Tom Moers

RTP Payload Format for the Speex Codec
....1 however, the default values are defined as:
ebw=3Dnarrow;mode=3;vbr=off;cng=off;ptime=20;sr=8000;penh=no;
I assume that 'yes'/'no' are the valid values of the penh parameter,
since these values are used in the other parameters. Is this correct?
Best regards,
Tom Moers

Drive Failing
I got an email from smartd yesterday with the following error:
SMART Health Status: SERVO IMPENDING FAILURE SEEK ERROR RATE TOO HIGH
[asc=5d,ascq=43]
I understand this means the drive is probably going to fail. This
device is /dev/sda and is part of /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
Is it possible to replace the single failing drive and if so, what would
be the steps so that data isn't lost.

Comparison between Ogg Vorbis and LAME
...torbike sound
(CD input) and distortion, leaving only Wave selected. I tried using a pair of
$100 Technics headphones directly hooked to the headphone out of the sound
card, but found that listening to the samples through an Aiwa NSX-V30 (el
cheapo 30W sound system) was both easier and sounded moere natural, which made
distinguishing sounds better.
After the test, I reconnected the rear speakers (which I didn\'t use), powered
by a 1975 Sansui A-M7 amplifier. I should have used the Sansui, if only
because at its loudest volume you can hear NO hiss, while on the Aiwa you do

source code
hello dear developers,
i'm a student of computer science at the technical university of berlin.
i'm on my exam and i have to implement an "perfect"
hifi-internet-telephone :-) ... at this point i thought of vorbis and the
ogg-vorbis codec to integrate this codec in my tool ...
the questions i have are:
is the source code lying on a free server to download it?
is there a
