NetWare Support
...this list supports the NetWare version (rsync.nlm)? if not does anyone know of a list that does? I'm having all sorts of issues with this ported version on my NetWare 6.5 server.

Windows XP Pro cannot access Samba
...t having
permission or an account which I've verified and have redone several
times, but still I cannot login.
Anyone have any information on how to fix this.

...load automatically when the server is rebooted or do I have to
write a script or configure a setting to have Samba load at bootup?

WXPPSP2 issue
.... Does anyone have any traces from a ethereal trace or any special info that I can look at.
User has account in /etc/passwd file also in smbpasswd file. PC has account in /etc/smbpasswd also.

rsync backup not working
...e this working remotely, it just that it was taking too long as it was copying every file and that is not what I wanted I wanted it to see the differences and copying those differences.

Windows XP login issue
...P2 and having a real bad time with it.
I cannot login on boot up and I cannot see the server from the PC. I can only map a drive to the server from the DOS prompt using "net use".

cannot get rsync to run completely - Really need some help in fixing this.
I'm trying to get rsync to do a complete backup of a NetWare server on the same LAN. For some reason it either completes the reading of the file list and starts copying files (only about 25) then it stops with the following error:
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at io.c(1941)
or it does nto start up at all.
I'm using version 2.63 as a .nlm on the NetWare server.

XP Pro will not join domain
Have done everything according to samba PDC howto and still cannot join
the domain. Anyone with XP Pro care to share their information on how
to get the XP Pro workstation to join. I have Win98 and W2K to join
okay. Also how do I get he login script to run?

sharename not found
While working on a samba site today ran into a problem that I could not
figure out. I was changing the security from "Share" to "user" and did
some other minor changes. When I went to login in some of the user some
of them went okay, but then some did not. What I got was a message
stating "MS Networking sharename was not found". My only question is
what sharename

cannot see the samba server when browsing
I would like to know if there is a rule that can be created in iptables that would allow a samba server shares to be seen on the internal LAN. The interface is on eth0 the ip address of eth0 is 192.168.0.1. It seems that when I applied a firewall I have blocked smb from showing up. Now the users cannot see any shares via Network Neighborhood , but I can map a drive via

printing setup
I have the following in my /etc/samba/smb.conf, yet i still cannot print
from a Windows desktop client. I can see the printer and it goes
through the motions of setting up the printer, it just doesn't print.
It gives an error message about the network name cannot be found. Yet
if I browse thru network neighborhood I can see the printer. What I see
thouh is a name for the printer called
