Fedora and direct rendering
...llo, I'm using Fedora 7 and I thought I should try nouveau. I couldn't get direct rendering to work. I found out that the Mesa package that ships with Fedora 7 doesn't include a DRI interface for the nouveau module. So I fetched the latest Mesa source from git, compiled with 'mke DRI_DIRS=nouveau linux-dri-x86' and copied the produced ./lib/nouveau_dri.so in the appropriate directory (/usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so). the driver nouveau_drv.so is provided by Fedora as well as the kernel module. I've added 'Load "glx"' and 'Load "dri"&...

RE: build speex-1.0.5 problem (undefined reference to `__strtol_internal')
Dear Jessy, Did you try to build it by normal gcc first? Usually, we run as the following steps.. (1) Configure (2) Make (3) Mke install (4) If it works this way, then it means we may need some more libraries in uclibc to build speex . Ariel ________________________________ From: Jessy Wen(???) Using mod_xsendfile and x_send_file with Mongrel
...be served if Mongrel is shut down) and I still get the same error. I have a feeling I''m missing something pretty simple, since it seems that most other people have managed to get this up and running without too much difficulty. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks, Mke

4.9 Pre-Release build weirdness
...r 134. I mv /usr/src /usr/src.old and cvsupped again... tried a buildworld, still an error 134 I "make kernel" and all went well After rebooting, I made world .. all went well I cp'd my custom kernel source to /usr/src/sys/i386/conf and made kernel ALL went well... I rebooted, did a mke world from /usr/src and all went well (including mergemaster) I've rebooted and I have a bona fide 4.9 pre-release system. What in hell went wrong with my traditional upgrade path? Tim Kellers CPE/NJIT

feature request: comment character in read.table?
How difficult would it be (I could try myself if someone thought it would be straightforward) to change read.table to allow a comment character such as # or %? My thought would be that anything on a line following a comment character would be ignored (so that the combination of blank.lines.skip=TRUE and a comment at the beginning of the line would lead to a line being skipped completely).

Replicating Legacy Phone Behavior
Hello, I was demonstrating Asterisk capabilities with a SIP Soft phone to a Key system installer yesterday, and we were discussing where Asterisk can fit into that market. He brought up some interesting, user-centric questions which I couldn't answer. I didn't find anything in google that realy addressed some of these questions, so I figured I would post them here to see what yall

Question on zero-inflated Poisson count data with repeated measures design - glmm.ADMB
Dear R community, I have some questions regarding the analysis of a zero-inflated count dataset and repeated measures design. The dataset is arranged as follows : Unit of analysis: point - these are points were bird were counted during a certain amount of time. In total we have about 175 points. Each point is located within a certain habitat fragment (here: "site"= A-B-C-D-..., in

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
