Bug in miniR installation (PR#7448)
While installing the windows miniR programm the setup wizard looks for
the MINIR-1.bin, but the downloaded file is named MINIR_1.bin. In
consequence installation aborts. The user can fix this bug by changing
manually the dash of the file name. Please, make sure that both the
setup wizard and the .bin refer to the same sintax.
Thanks!

about the "mini-distribution" (R for Win )
Dear all,
I've just downloaded the miniR.exe, miniR-1.bin,....,miniR-8.bin in order to
update R to 1.6.2 (I cannot download the file of 19Mb !). The installation
seems to have worked fine, but I can't find in the /bin dir several files
that were, for instance, in the /bin directory in the version 1.5.1
In particular the file Rcmd.exe is missing, therefore I cannot run R in
BATCH mode (I

Is anyone using the MiniR distribution?
I currently build two different versions of each Windows binary: the
rwXXXX.exe full installation program (with the next release looking to
be around 25 Megabytes), and a series of 8 diskette-sized files named
miniR*.
The miniR files only include a minimal installation of R, and are
rarely tested. Rather than building something that may not even work,
I'd like to stop building them.

I am totally lost on how to install R . . .
First . . . SUBSCRIBE (I want to subscribe to the list).
Second, I am trying to install R on windows XP. In looking at the
instruction manual I get the following:
The simplest way is to use 'rw1081.exe' or 'miniR.exe'. Just
double-click on the icon
and follow the instructions. If you installed R this way you can
uninstall it from the Control Panel.
How do I get the

[patch/cygwin]: Change to README file
Hi,
could somebody with checking rights please apply the below patch?
It's only a small fix to the README file to remove a reference
to the obsolete minires-devel package, and to add the reference
to the libedit-devel package since CYgwin now provides libedit as well.
Thanks,
Corinna

installation R (OS: windows)
I''ve downloaded R (version: R-1.5.1). I looked at your instructions
to install it into my pc, but after extracting files with winzip, I
clicked on src/gnuwin32/installer/install but icon was in my directory, but was not on.
I also looked for SetupR.exe or miniR.exe icons, but I didn''t find them.
Now, I don''t know how to get the installation.
Could you help me please?

[PATCH] Drop two useless HAVE_CYGWIN
...al cases for Cygwin, which are already
superfluous for a good while.
- openbsd-compat/bsd-openpty.c: Since openpty() is implemented in Cygwin
now, the bsd-openpty.c code just isn't build into OpenSSH on Cygwin.
So the Cygwin special case is useless.
- When building OpenSSH for Cygwin, the minires-devel package (development
package for the special "minires" resolver library for Cygwin) is
required. But this package also brings its own version of arpa/nameser.h,
so the #ifndef HAVE_CYGWIN is useless.

[LLVMdev] Kaleidoscope-tutorial: Fails to create the JIT
Hello All
I 'm studing LLVM/Clang and trying to follow the Kaleidoscope tutorial
(Release 2.6 version).
I found some minir docu-bugs and added them to Bugzilla.
However, Now I found a show-stopper for me, the toy (v4) demo does
build, but does crash, on any input. Even a simpe ';'!
Looking into the (demo-code) found the that the JIT can't be build/

openssh-3.8p1 doesn't compile under Cygwin
Hello,
I've just downloaded openssh-3.8p1 and tried to compile it under
Cygwin (that is up to date), but this didn't work...
i juste tried :
./configure
make
the configure seems to work but the make stopped because of an error
compiling some files in the openbsd-compat folder (see the attachments
for logs).
I have the last Zlib version and OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004.
I also tried

Loading R 1.8.1 (PR#5509)
I downloaded the latest Windows version 1.8.1 from
http://www.stats.bris.ac.uk/R/ (21/11/03 R-1.8.1.tar then to-day the file
is R-1.8.1.tgz) and from Windows unzipped the file. The directory R-1.8.1
is created (rather than rw1081) but no subdirectory 'bin'. I cannot see any
.dll nor .exe files in the directory and I understand from Brian Ripley's
page of 'R for Windows FAQ'
