Which external WiFi device for laptop running CentOS 5.3?
...code5.fw firmware and work with the newer b43 module and associated firmware. However, he claims that at school, he has always had intermittent problems with wireless under Vista and wants an external device (USB or PCMCIA). So...if you had a clean slate, which make & model would you buy for mindlessly easy installation and use under CentOS 5.3? Dave

Element.addMethods() is not a function after upgrade to 1.7.0
After upgrading to prototype 1.5.0 and scriptaculous 1.7.0 my autocompleter.local died... firebug reports that effects.js is to blame calling Element.addMethods(); I can not find out why cause as far as I can see it does exist in prototype.js. Why is Sieve trying to re-compile global scripts?
I have some global scripts that were running nicely. Then I opened one in an editor and (probably, but not 100% sure) mindlessly saved the file, even though I hadn't made any changes. Shortly after, Sieve errors started showing in the log: Error: 4k5JA74R/1TlIwABG/SpMA: sieve: binary save: failed to create temporary file: open(/usr/local/var/dovecot/sieve/script2.svbin.example.com.4139.) failed: Permission denied... using windows ad accounts for centos 5
Hi I read and used the article http://blog.wazollc.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=2 to authenticate my ad accounts when logging on to cent 5...however, once I edit the nsswitch.conf file, I can't even log on as root or any local users anymore. Kinit seems to initialize fine doing a kinit username at MYDOMAIN.COM , however doing a getent passwd adusername ....it just sits there in the shell and

Binding to specific IPs/ports
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I'm not a developer. OpenSSH seems to be capable of binding to any given list of IP addresses, on any given list of ports. What it can't seem to do, however, is be given any combination of these. Lets say I want to bind to 1.1.1.1:22 as well as 2.2.2.2:80. (I choose 80 knowing it is the http port, just for that purpose, because some people are

Problems with SATA DVD+-RW drive [SOLVED]
On the system I'm testing with the CD-Rom drive is IDE but the softlink at /dev/cdrom points to the scsi device and that's not working with the automounter for some reason. Each time I reinstall I have to delete the soft link and recreate it pointing at /dev/hda instead. > -----Original Message----- > From: centos-bounces at centos.org > [mailto:centos-bounces at centos.org]

plotting to stdout
I have found two prior instances of this question in R-help, but I can't find the answer, and I'm giving up on mindless tinkering. http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/03a/5994.html https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2004-December/062259.html I must be able to pipe the poltting commands to stdin and receive the plot on stdout, with errors written to stderr, should any occur.

Kickstart setup
Is there a way to use kickstart to boot a machine into a manual setup process? Basically what I'm getting to is this, the machine doesn't not have a CD drive in it (nor can I add one), but I can boot it via kickstart. The install media is on the network. What I'd like to do is boot this machine up and rather than have kickstart do everything for me as far as installing the OS and

Incomplete server response: no information provided for message 1. I got a transcript of the conversation between Evolution and dovecot. The relavent section

S-Plus compatability...
Dear all, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to solve a problem I've encountered. I have a set of S-plus scripts which call an external program to analyse the data (the external program is called Genehunter and is used for genetic analysis). There are a six scripts in total, five of which are called from the main script. I made a few changes like changing
