Building R sources on Windows
...t is not in the documentation. The following recipe does work repeatably for me. Install the following third party packages as mentioned in the install manuals and Duncan Murdoch's Rtools page: Tcl/tk support libpng libjpeg BLAS (I used ATLAS) ActiveState PERL Microsoft HTML Help Workshop MikTek Inno Setup 5 iconv.dll MinGW-4.1.0 Duncan Murdoch's page on using MikTek is good but but more complicated than it needs to be. The only problem with the default e- TeX enhanced mode seems to be with the texinfo sources. So only the tex and pdftex commands need to be reset to use e-TeX c...

error possibly related to sweave, path, and spaces on windows

There is a line in the R script: junk <- system(paste("/usr/texbin/pdflatex ",latexFiles[i1]), intern=TRUE) that needs to be modified to run on my computer. I then went to Start | Programs | MiKteX | MiKTeK Options | General and updated and refreshed everything. * I got the following paths in variable environment of the system: C:\tools\bin\;C:\Perl\bin\;C:\MinGW\bin\;C:\Rsource\latex\miktex\bin\;C:\HTML_Help_Workshop\;C:\Rsource\Tcl\bin\;… I open a CMD terminal window, and run make. Sweave and Miktex (Sweave.sty not found)
Hi all, I know from googling that this is a common problem; I've just tried what I understand to be the common solutions to know avail -- maybe I'm just confused. I installed Miktex 2.8 -- it seems to be working fine. I'm using this demo document: http://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~houston/demo.Rnw I've copied the Sweave.sty file into at this point multiple places on the Miktex
