[PATCH RFC] Change softlockup watchdog to ignore stolen time
...stolen time, and therefore only report when the guest itself locked up. When running native, sched_clock() returns real-time nanoseconds, so the behaviour would be unchanged. Does this seem sound? Also, softlockup.c's use of jiffies seems archaic now. Should it be converted to use timers? Mightn't it report lockups just because there was no timer event? Moving clients and JOrbis
Here is what I'm trying to do: most of the time, I broadcast from a playlist, just loooping through prerecorded content. Sometimes, say at a special concert or sports game, a live stream (from a laptop's line-in) is broadcast instead. Ideally, the laptop could simply "take over" the stream from IceS, and hand it back when we're finished with the live stuff. Is there a way

prompt to update a host key
As far as I can tell, there currently isn't a straightforward way to use password authentication for connecting to hosts where the host key changes frequently. I realize this is a fairly niche use case, but when developing software for devices that often get reimaged (resulting in a host key change), it can get pretty tedious to attempt to connect, get a warning, remove the old host key via

[LLVMdev] making cygwin nightly builds available?
...own binutils. I'm still trying, but four days is a long time for no success. Anyway, I notice that last night's cygwin nightly build suceeded; could I just pretty please have those binaries? Some projects I've seen have a "download nightly build" section for the adventurous; mightn't you do the same? This would be hugely useful until there's a forehead-build (or better yet, forehead-install) for llvm on cygwin. Marshall Spight

...You need to see if you can set your PCM device to let you record from it. Unfortunatly, aumix doesn't let you see the capabilities of channels, unlike alsa's amixer, so you're going to have to experiment with it. It's possible it doesn't, and even if it does, the OSS drivers mightn't provide that fascility - I really don't know. So, assuming it does, you could try: aumix -w r Note that I don't use aumix, now that I use alsa, so I'm not really that familiar with it. Having said all that, it's probably far simpler to use Oddcast for XMMS if you're pl...

Re: Strange Wine Error
Hi, I saw a thread on this subject from about a month ago and the solution presented there doesn't quite work for me so I thought I'd try to revive it: I am running Fedora Core 6. I had wine installed primarily in order to run a small dos app and it worked beautifully. Yesterday, after a reboot, FC offered to update my packages, including wine, and I agreed. Now, pretty much any wine

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello, I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)... the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK but Ices could

oggPCM for general data
Greetings, I am building a data collection system that will ultimately have 28 channels and multi-rates up to 2 M/sec. I need some sort of lossless format framing and header system to transfer the data to a desktop PC over USB. Rather than reinvent, I looked around to see what others are using and for existing tools for testing. Surprisingly, I found few general purpose data formats that can

Syslinux 5.00 - Doesn't boot my system / Not passing the kernel options to the kernel?
Hi, I encounter a problem with Syslinux 5.00 I cannot really describe. So I created two small videos: Booting with Syslinux 5.00 (1.3 MB): <https://www.dropbox.com/s/b6g8cdf2t9v48c6/boot-syslinux5-fail.mp4> How I fixed the problem by downgrading to Syslinux 4.06 and how booting should look like (6.5 MB): <https://www.dropbox.com/s/lt7cpgfm0qvqtba/boot-syslinux5-how-i-fixed-it.mp4>

Questions on setting up icecast
yep, they simply forward the bitstream to icecast. And in general, bitrate changes are handled by most listening clients, although very few I have found (if any) can handle samplerate changes appropriately. oddsock At 10:03 AM 9/14/2004, you wrote: >You mentioned these programs and their "no-reencoding" mode.
