attn rick van rein (midget)
From 11 Oct 2013 (Rick van Rein) "Hello, I love Dovecot, but when developing a small IMAP tool, I ran into searching behaviour can easily be optimised. Please forgive a rather detailed suggestion. This was on Dovecot 1.2.15 on Debian Squeeze. My tool? It's called "midget" and retrieves documents from an IMAP box based on their mid: or cid: identifier, as per RFC 2392. I thought this would be useful to retrieve email attachments into a remote shell environment. When using Kerberos, the credentials and a strong hint of one's mail address are already prese...

tired of "midget packet received" warnings
Hi, When monitoring an asterisk through its iax2 port I get these warnings at the console: [Nov 6 13:15:15] WARNING[2209]: chan_iax2.c:7000 socket_process: midget packet received (1 of 4 min) This is triggered by the monitoring app sending a POKE to the iax port. The warning appears even without any '-v'. Is there a way to avoid these warnings? Or at least turn them off when at the console in non-verbose mode? Thanks, -- http://www.lesculturelle...

Password sync not changing Samba passwords
...sword sync = yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u passwd chat timeout = 10 However, when I change a password in Windows it thinks for a while then says 'Access denied', however the unix password has been changed but the Samba one has not (!) If I runs smbpasswd I get.. [midget 8:56] ~ >smbpasswd Old SMB password: New SMB password: Retype new SMB password: SAMR connection to machine NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED failed. Error was 127.0.0.1, but LANMAN password changes are disabled I've done some googling on that error but haven't found anything definitive. The acco...

Asterisk monitoring with Nagios and IAX
...e have a lead on a Nagios plugin that speaks IAX or a small app to do so? I'm trying to set up remote monitoring for my Asterisk server and only IAX2 traffic is allowed through the firewall. Simply using check_udp to port 4569 yields no usable answer and Asterisk complains about receiving a midget packet or something like that :) jens

Samba 4 issues on FreeBSD 9
...r a lot of googling the core stuff is working (phew). Samba 4.0.13 on FreeBSD 9
...7 - NT_STATUS_ADDRESS_ALREADY_ASSOCIATED task_server_terminate: [nbtd failed to setup interfaces] samba_terminate: nbtd failed to setup interfaces However nothing is listening on that port as shown my sockstat. If i tell it to bind to 10.0.2.1 it works. This might be because the server is called midget which resolves to 10.0.2.7 but that is only an alias on the interface. Am I doing something wrong, or could the code be a little smarter? [OT] Witty one liners or computer related proverbs
Dear All, I need some witty computer related proverbs or one liners that some of have used in the past as footers for your emails for example. I particularly remember a PERL based transliteration joke/footer that when run in PERL produces a witty output.... This is to fix a problem internally created by an over zealous salesman at my company pinning up A4 sheets with bullSh*t sales proverbs

delivery agent in 1.0?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi :) Is there any plan to include delivery agent in 1.x? I would be very happy, if there would be lmtp delivery agent included with dovecot 1.x... This would make creating large mailsystem cluster creation very simple + indexes would be always up2date. Brane -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----

apachectl gracefult causes Signal 11 crash after 6.3 to 7.0 upgrade [SOLVED]
It seems a php-extensions bug. If you comment the mhash.so in /usr/local/etc/php/extensions.ini as: ;entension=mhash.so all works fine and you don't get anymore httpd crash (signal 11) if you use 'apachectl graceful'. Maybe will be a good idea to open PR for this? I hope it helps someone.... (I'm very surprised that this isn't a documented bug in 7.0 yet) -- Thanks, Jordi
