OpenSSH 3.2.3p1 won't compile under IRIX 6.5.14
Previously 3.2.2 would not compile under Solaris, then 3.2.3
came out with a bug fix for the problem.
Now 3.2.3 won't compile under IRIX 6.5.14. I've tried using
both gcc 3.0.1 and the IRIX MIPSpro 7.1 compilers. I've been
compiling previous versions of OpenSSH for years using these
same compilers (we haven't updated the MIPSpro compiler for 3
years, and I've been using it on

Support vector model?
Dear All,
Apologies for sending this email to both list, but at this point I'm not
sure which one could help me the most.
I have 4 sets of data, 1 test and 3 different sets of controls.
The measurements are binary, with a matrix of 0 and 1
I'm measuring across time (rows, ~815) the behaviour of organelles in
the cell by microscopy in response to different stimuli (several

Grouping sets of data, performing function and re-assigning values
Hi there,
I hope you have time to read this question and offer a suggestion or two.
My basic question is this:
I have data in sets of three. I would like to combine the data from each set, perform a function (probably just taking the median and MAD), then re-assign these values to each of the original sets of data.
As a bit of background, I have performed a microscopy screen and analyzed

Compiling OpenSSH 3.4p1 on SunOS 4.1.4
Note that this wasn't necessary on previous versions of
OpenSSH under SunOS 4.1.4.

[SUMMARY] Problems with 'last' (when OpenSSH compiled 64-bit)
Problem:
'last' output is incorrect, /var/adm/wtmpx is corrupted. Example:

foster pts/3 dim Thu Aug 1 14:34 still logged in
Solution: (workaround)
This turned out to be an OpenSSH problem! If OpenSSH (only tested
versions 3.4p1 and 3.5p1) is compiled 64-bit it corrupts the

SMB share access for machines which are not joined to the domain?
Samba 4.7.6 running on Ubuntu 18.04, with host joined to an AD domain as
a domain member.
I have all this working perfectly for SMB clients which are joined to
the domain, however I need to provide SMB access (if possible) to a
handful of machines that are not domain members and can't be made domain
members. Is there any way to do this?
I thought configuring "allow hosts" in

JOBS: New positions in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, HPC and software engineering
Dear all,
The CRUK MI have multiple positions in and around bioinformatics, biostatistics and computational biology.
These range from HPC and mathematical programming, through biostatistics and biomarkers, to computational biology and bioinformatics. Focuses include single cell genomics and personalised medicine in lung and prostate cancer.

convolve: request for "usual" behaviour + some improvements + some fixes
To add to the wish-list for "convolve":
For modeling processes that decay exponentially in time, e.g.,
fluorescence, it is desirable to have a function that convolves an
arbitrary vector with an exponential using an iterative method.
In the TIMP package (which won't be on CRAN till R 2.5.0 is official, but
is for now at www.nat.vu.nl/~kate/TIMP) we implemented this
