Can't set ACL with Windows XP - why?
Hi there, finally all seems to be working. Samba 3 as PDC with LDAP Backend. Even ACLs are possible with the command line tool setfacl. These ACLs work fine in Samba and are displayed correctly in the Windows filemanager in the security-tab. But one thing remains unsolved: why can't I set those ACLs directly from my Windows client machine? If I try to modify the ACL I always get a message

Problem with LDAP groups and associated file permissions
Hi folks! Our smb with LDAP PDC now seems to be nearly completed. Just now we found out something very mysterious. We organized some directorys to be used by specific domain groups. If we put a user into a group the user is allowed to access the associated share. So far this works pretty nice. If we remove the user from the domain group the user seems to keep all his rights he got from his group

Problems with Samba <=> CUPS and Samba <=> Windows
There are two problems I have with Samba My system: Suse Linux, Kernel version 2.6.12.5, Samba version 3.0.20-0.1-SUSE 1st problem: If I put my outlook.pst on my Samba server and tell my Outlook to use the network path to it, it screws up after some weeks.
