RichEdit and Dlls
...ew years ago with Delphi 5 and one of its components is a RichEdit. That's the only thing that does not work when running it with WIne. I've got the latest build for SuSE 8, version 20020804 and it does not work as well. I know Wine has richedit.dll as part of it but would I have to install MFCs dlls or anyother dll to enable it to run.
Thank you,
Carlos Fernando.

Samba and Visual C++
I've just tried to install MS Visual C++ 6.0 on our Samba 2.0.5a
Linux Server. When I was asked for the installation directory I tried
to use a samba-share that was mounted on a network drive letter. Just
after this the setup programm refused the path as incorrect. Now the
question: Is it impossible to install the VC6 package server based?
I don't wan't to install this big package on

update for 4.11 Security Officer-supported branches
Hello...
In regards to http://www.freebsd.org/security/ , from what I understand
the FreeBSD 4.x branch is generally winding down in favor of the 5.x/6.x
branches. It would be nice to know ahead of time if 4.11 will also be
an extended release, or if that would fall to 4.12. For those of
running 4.8 (expiring about the same time as 4.11 is released) we would
be in a better position to know

7.x and multiple IPs in jails
Hello all,
I've been searching around and have come up with no current discussions on
this issue. I'll keep it brief:
In 7.0 or 7.1 is there any provision to have multiple IP addresses in a
jail?
I'm stumped on this, as I just started a new hosting project that needs a
few jails. At least one of those requires multiple IPs, which is
something I never really even realized was

Problem with data editor when R built with --enable-mcfs
...it any data I was
getting:
dataentry(datalist, modes) : invalid device
unable to create fontset -*-fixed-medium-r-normal--13-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
anyway I looked around code, noticed that it comes from fragment when
SUPPORT_MCFS is defined, and decided to try my luck without it,
rebuild with:
--disable-mfcs
and it worked like a charm, just doesn't have UTF-8 support now of
course what would be nice... am I missing something? I googled and
searched and found one similar message, but then it was stated it
works with current versions... my fonts in xorg.conf points to right
directories in my system...

Status of MFC security event audit support in RELENG_6?
A few weeks back Robert Watson announced the merge of these features from 7
back into 6-STABLE. I hadn't seen any updates and was curious as to the
status. Us 6-STABLE users are curious to test it out.
Thanks.

IPMI serial console
Hi all,
A recent thread inspired me to try getting a proper serial console working on a Supermicro X9SCL motherboard with IPMI.
However I find that while I see loader messages and the getty I enabled after boot I don't get any kernel messages which does somewhat limit the utility..
The BMC creates COM3 (/dev/cuau2) which works with getty. I modified /boot/loader.conf like so..
