Re: VF MAC not reverted to all zero MAC/domain xml MAC on VM restart
...its driver is re-initialized (I will call this the "admin mac") Some VF drivers initialize the mac to 00:00:00:00:00:00 (e.g. the Cisco enic driver) and some initialize it to a random number (e.g. igb and all the other Intel VF net drivers). Likewise, some PF drivers initialize the admin macs to 00:00:00:00:00:00 and some to random numbers (as a matter of fact, this behavior changes between different versions of the same driver in at least one case!). Beyond this, some PF and VF drivers allow setting the mac/admin mac to 00:00:00:00:00:00, and some prohibit one or the other. (in many c...

How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address
How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address? Greetings, if I establish a network for the VM (hypervisor is KVM) using bridge in the virt-manager , a vnet0 device is created . There are some relationships about mac address between the vnet0 device in the hypervisor and the ethX device in the VM, for example : the mac address of vnet0 is FE:54:00:84:E3:62 the mac address of ethX in the VM

PPTP VPN secure?
Hi all I have succesfully set up PPTP VPN access to my company using PoPToP/pppd (thank you Tom for excellent documentation), everything works fine so far. Problem is security. As I understand it, since PPTP ports trough tunnel are opened to whole Internet (have to be), access verification is now based only on username/password combination. Can level of security be raised with MAC verification?

ssl_cipher_list
Hi, I have noticed the 'ssl_cipher_list' directive in the 1.0-test snapshots which is not in 0.99. It's default value seems to be "all:!low". However, this would not be compatible with openssl's cipher listing format. Thus, I would vote to change it's format to be openssl compatible. To be compatible, it has to be changed to "ALL:!LOW" (just upercased in

Wine for Linux PPC emulate Mac OS
The Wine http://www.winehq.com/ project has been created to emulate Windows to be able to run windows softwares directly under Linux without to have to emulate Windows. It's very great and wonderful idea ! The Darwine http://darwine.opendarwin.org/ project aims to to the same but under Mac OS X with adding also the emulation of an x86 CPU. But, I wanted to know something, or even to make

mac os 10.5.5 and symbolic link to www
...the Mac computers, the symbolic links show up as an alias that cannot be followed. These same MAC computers can samba to the www directory via a symbolic link on our Fedora Core 5 server. Since the www symbolic link works on a PC that sambas to the Red Hat server, is this strictly a problem on the macs or is there a setting I need to change in a conf file on the Red Hat server, since the same Macs can use the symbolic link to the www directory on the Fedora server? Thanks Marc
