Mexican ITSP needed
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knows about a Mexican ITSP I can connect to to
route calls from and to my * boxen.
If it matters: I'm located in The Netherlands and one of our customers
is in Mexico so if we need a Mexican presence that is not an issue.
Thanks.

OT Mexican domains?
Hola!
In case there are some mexican readers here...
It is little difficult for an english speaker to find information
about mexican domains. Is it possible to register a domain like
"fiesta.mx"? I have seen sites selling ".com.mx" and similar but not
just ".mx".
Thanks,
Peter

Can i use a hash on a collection_select? If don't, alternatives.
In my current application, i have food categories: mexican, home made,
japanese, ect
As these categories only have ID and name, no other attributes, i dont
want to create a table on the DB.
My first idea was to create a constant named FOOD_CATEGORIES, that is
has like:
FOOD_CATEGORIES = { 1=>''mexican'',...

mexican hat wavelet?
I would like to analyze a 2D array using a mexican hat wavelet of fixed
scale. Couldn't find any mention of this wavelet on the help archives. Is
one available?
Thanks in advance,

aa.cwt <- wavCWT(aats)
aa.tree <- wavCWTTree (aa.cwt)
aa.peak <- wavCWTPeaks(aa.tree)
sorry I didn't realize that only the mexican hat wavelet could be used
for the peak function. This should work fine. and Use the tim.colors
argument in the plot() function. I hope this helps.... This reason I
suggested the morlet wavelet is that it is compactly suppoted

one of those threads.
I have 3 offices, 1 in Canada, 2 in Mexico. We are currently

suspect one of the mexican sites will be very limited.
I need to setup the typical office setup, but need to get the

type of network (all my past experience comes from a centralized

information
Hi.
My name is Angel, I am Mexican, and I write by the following thing: I am in
search of commands or options in R that can be used in regional economics.
Specially I am interested in commands who can be interacted with geographic
information systems, to get a regionalization, using a lot of many
indicators.

distance to eye in persp()
Hi
the manpage for persp() has a wonderful section where a the trans3d
() function
is used with points() and lines() to add red dots and a green sinusoid
to the Mexican hat surface.
Does anyone have a way to tell what distance a point is from the eye/
camera?
Take the following line:
lines (trans3d(x, y=10, z= 6 + sin(x), pm = res), col = 3)
Is there a function like trans3d() that returns a vector of distances
from
the x,y,z point to the camera? I want th...

Nonlinear fitting - reparametrization help
...fit a function of the form:
y = A0 + A1 * exp( -0.5* ( (X - Mu1) / Sigma1 )^2 ) - A2 * exp ( -0.5*
( (X-Mu2)/Sigma2 )^2 )
i.e. a mean term (A0) + a difference between two gaussians.
The constraints are A1,A2 >0, Sigma1,Sigma2>0, and usually Sigma2>Sigma1.
The plot looks like a "Mexican Hat".
I had trouble (poor fits) fitting this function to toy data in Matlab and
now I am playing with R's nls and optim functions. I keep running into
singular gradient errors with nls, even with very different starting
values, and have not yet figured out how to interpret the trace...

years (270 surveys) and I'd like to quantify the patches and gaps to
determine how many patches (i.e. spawning areas) there were before the
fishery collapse (1951-1965) and during recovery (post 1985). The
sampling domain runs from San Francisco to the Mexican border and out
beyond the continental shelf. The grid spacing is fairly sparse (30 to
70 km), and irregular (closer nearshore than offshore)(see CalCOFI web
