...LUN on an EMC CLARiiON. The O/S is Red Hat AS 2.1 running Oracle 9i RAC (4 node). The filesystems are a series of LUNs combined into a MetaLUN that is formatted and mounted as OCFS. We are ready to expand a MetaLUN, but wanted to see if anyone has done this "on the fly", ie: Expand the MetaLUNs while the systems are still up, then reboot each server one by one and only have a "rolling" outage (instead of shutting all 4 nodes down, expanding the MetaLUN, then bringing each node back up, thus creating a 100% outage). Had a problem starting Oracle after expanding an EMC Metalun. I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below] I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04. Per instructions... Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 ' Supposedly this should work, but I get get.... The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G. Aborting.

Hello All I have a brand spanking new 40TB Hardware Raid6 array to play around with. I am looking for recommendations for which filesystem to use. I am trying not to break this up into multiple file systems as we are going to use it for backups. Other factors is performance and reliability.
