openser/ser/Asterisk user meeting (beer drinking in Vienna)
Hi! Meanwhile also the location is fixed: it is happening at metalab (http://metalab.at/) - a place for geeks. Thus, we meet there at Thursday, 20.9.2007, 19:00 CEST (=local Vienna time). Metalab is located next to the city hall: http://metalab.at/wiki/Lage Metalab is no pub/restaurant. Thus, don't come hungry! Nevertheless liquid food (drinks) is available...

Can't connect to server using protocol v2?
Is this really caused by a buggy server, or is this an interoperability problem? It seems to work ok when I specify -o "protocol 1" on the command line. Lilo for CentOS 5?
Does there exist a version of Lilo built for x86_64 CentOS 5? It does not seem to be on the DVD. *I* really, really, prefer Lilo over Grub. -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Download the Model Railroad System http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Binaries for Linux and MS-Windows heller at deepsoft.com -- http://www.deepsoft.com/ModelRailroadSystem/

Unsupported Printers - just "sticks" in the lpd queue ;(
...(FTP) and 515 (unknown) open -- the FTP server appears to be for updating firmware (my guess), and port 515 immediately drops the connection if you telnet to it. Therefore I have *no* idea how this printer is accepting data -- UDP? I've checked the lpd man pages, the Printing-HOWTO (at http://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/Printing-HOWTO) as well as other web resources and have tried the various suggestions, but I'm confounded as to why this isn't working. I'm going to be working on other printers tomorrow including a miscreant Fuji-Xerox Laser Press 4300, an Epson LP-8600F,...

Failed authentication to a mysql database (bug or PEBKAC?)
Hello, I'm trying to setup a mailserver running postfix and dovecot with mysql as database backend. Postfix is already running and delivers mails just fine. Unfortunately, dovecot has great problems connecting to the database (using username + password). If I disable the password, everthing works fine. But, thats harakiri, security wise ;-) I tried dovecot-1.0-stable and the latest

Samba PDC with 100+ Client Experiences?
First of all, kudos to the Samba crew. You've made a great application, which will hopefully commodotize Microsoft's biggest asset, their NT server. I've set up Samba 2.0.0 as a PDC with roaming profiles. All seems to work well with the small limited set of machines I've used. Backgrounds and all settings seem to be saved, and all works well. It took quite a bit of time to get

State of IceCast2?
Hi - I'm currently researching possible implementations of a streaming Ogg server for use with DarkIce to reencode live radio traffic for streaming simulcast. DarkIce claims support for IceCast2, which supports streaming Ogg-vorbis media. The only sticking point I'm running into -- it's been damned near impossible to find anything more than mere scraps of information about the state

State of IceCast2?
I've done checkouts from CVS as outlined on the page. Checking out module 'icecast' from cvs.icecast.org and then executing ./autogen.sh causes the icecast code to indicate "Building icecast-1.3.12..." and there is no HACKING file in sight. Is the icecast2 source on another branch? Another module? I'm having the damnedest time finding the active development branch...
