Nothing that violates the pwquality rules: http://linux.die.net/man/8/pam_pwquality Are you telling me you cannot memorize a series of 8 characters that do not violate those rules? I?m the first to fight boneheaded ?password security? schemes like a required change every N weeks, but this is not that. Spend a bit of time, cook up a really good password, and then use it for the next several years. That amortizes t...

Sparc?
My 12 year old wants to learn more about servers and has memorized a lot of commands like ls, chmod, du, etc. He wants to have his own domain and server on the web and I have enough Static IP's, so why not foster this interest. I have an old ultra sparc 5. Are there any CentOS versions that support Sparc? Or recommendations? I know OpenBSD does, but I...

Identifying objects within BumpPtrAllocator.
...ns. Having deterministic identifiers instead of pointers would aid debugging: imagine a conditional break by object identifier that has not yet been constructed, or simply trying to align two debug dumps of different kind from different runs together. Additionally, pointers are hard to read and memorize; it's hard to notice the difference between 0x7f80a28325e0 and 0x7f80a28325a0, especially when they're a few screens apart. Hence the idea: why don't we print the offset into the allocator's memory slab instead of a pointer? We use BumpPtrAllocator all over the place, which...

Setting up 'cervisia'
...produce any traffic whatsoever (I checked with 'iptraf'). No surprise I can't connect to the NUT CVS server. I'm able to use CVS by commandline (ssh keys are uploaded and I no longer have to enter a password, so this works too), but since this requires a lot of manual intervention, memorizing which files are changed and copy-paste actions, I would like to use a GUI here. However, it seems like I'm too stupid to configure it. Humble regards, Arjen

[cfe-dev] Identifying objects within BumpPtrAllocator.
This is a great idea! I personally also wouldn't mind going further in debug builds and actually create and store sequential IDs with the objects and take the small memory hit for improved debuggability. The `PersistentId` field in SelectionDAG works that way and has helped make the output more readable IMO. - Matthias > On Aug 28, 2018, at 5:22 PM, George Karpenkov via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > Patch available at https://rev...

adduser vs. useradd
...ing that command probably out of an old habit, since I've been a long-time Slackware user before. But now I wanted to dig a bit deeper, and some details puzzle me. Whereas on Slackware, 'adduser' is an interactive shell script to create a user so that basically you don't have to memorize all the 'useradd' switches, CentOS' 'adduser' is a mere symbolic link to 'useradd'. But when I add a new user (# adduser newuser), I don't use any switches, say to specify the shell, the home directory, the password expiration delay, etcetera. I understand tha...

[LLVMdev] RFC: Are we ready to completely move away from the optionality of a DataLayout?
...from > > I think this is what Chandler is proposing to fix: every module will have a DataLayout string. > Right. I was figuring there'd be some way of having the backend specify it if there isn't one in the module IR - or a way of calling into the backend to generate one up since memorizing all of the possible target layouts for all of the targets would probably be a pain. These bits would probably be off of the TargetMachine right now. It'd make moving the DataLayout string onto the TargetMachine easier later if we decide to do that. -eric

Wanted: tutorial on troubleshooting SIP issues
For someone that's network-aware, but hasn't sat down and plowed through umpteen SIP-related RFC's and memorized the standards, is there a good primer on troubleshooting SIP issues? I'm seeing a lot of NOTIFY/603 messages on my network between Asterisk and my Sipura 942's, for instance... Not sure what these are... perhaps the qualify keepalives? In which case, I guess the 603 is moot... b...

domain reinitalization detection
...approach I could find is to compare domain ID from previous and current read. And this is my first question : is that reliable solution ? Or do you know any better ? And related question is how to resolve virDomainPtr into domain ID ? The only verified way of getting domain ID I know is to memorize it's UUID, then call virConnectListDomains , then iterate over all returned domain IDs and resolve each one's pointer using virDomainLookupByID , then get UUID by virDomainGetUUIDString get domain ID of matching UUID's . It seems too complex and I expect noticeable performa...

how to flush user input before READ()
Hi how to flush user input before READ()? I wrote a small script to ask for user password before granting access to outside, but some telefones memorize the full user input, including "#". So, when the user press redial, for instance 5556789#123, asterisk accepts the number and the password "123" and gives access to the outside word to whomever redials that terminal. Any hints?
